Team III. 315/35/17 rear - 265/45/17 front (I think). Painted a dark charcoal. Have drilled the fake spinners to safty wire when car is complete.

B R M 6 spoke

clarification: I don't have them, I just think they look good

I am going for the HOT rod look, unique and a bit flashy. I like Foose rims, but I am not paying 4k for rims. I have a vette frame so I have to do the staggered rims, I have 17" now but I need bigger in the rear.

Similar design, anthricite bullets. I like the torque's as well.

The reason I was told was because the pin holes in the wheels will eventually egg shape, once that happens the next thing if not detected could be wheel breakage.Besides that the wheels I chose look original to most who see them. Also knowing I was going to build a high horsepower bigblock and most of my driving would be on the street with stop and go traffic. It made even more sense to go the way I chose. To each his/her own,Right!

I know you said you didn't care for the Halibrand wheels, but have you looked at the PSE GT40 wheels? They're similar but slightly different.

Just a thought.

You don't have to pay $4K. I received a quote from Foose and Coddington for 17X8 and 17X10 rims with custom backspacing and they were both about $2500 delivered with center caps.

I thought about Torque Thrust rims. They look super nice but everyone has them. You might as well paint your car blue with a white stripe then!:D

Now that is a fine looking wheel ! This may sound silly but what ever happened to steel chrome reverse wheels ? Do they still make them ?

fleiss75 12-04-2009 02:16 PM

Those are much better than the original halibrand...little pop, very sexy.
Thanks Vector

They get my vote.

My daughter (9) today asked me why I don't have spinners on the Cobra.

427sharpe 12-04-2009 06:29 PM

What about the FIA Wheel? Pricey, but they look awesome! I saw that PS wheels are making some, and I believe Vintage has them, but in 18", which would look out of place on a Cobra IMO. Maybe somebody has started mfg. a set at a reasonable price?

Nothing silly, chromies were a good look on the right vehicle. They're also heavy - in stock sizes, even. I don't want to know what a steel 15x10 would weigh...
