I have found some good leads on the cobra import front (legal) But I have a neat loop-hole (known this one awhile) that is completely legal , Ex-pat . If you are an expatriate , say you were working oil rigs in trinidad for two years , bought a car there, japanese Spec , not legal in Canada . When you move home you can bring it with you legally . Transport Canada , Government of Canada , does't want to screw over its returning subjects "oh sorry you have to leave your car " and give you a pass as it were . If you live in socialist Canada (auto insurance owned/operated by provincial government ) your home free . If you live in Alberta or Ontario I guess it would be customary to bend over your auto insurance agents desk come renewal time .

That may be a possibility. There was one fellow from Canada that had a work visa and was in the U.S. for many years. He bought a Cobra while here but when he tried to bring it home with him, was told to leave it in the U.S. because there is no way you can bring it in. He sold it before returning to Canada. Like I said,you're rolling the dice and may lose your car and your money.

Ok guys here's the latest . I got in contact with -CENSOR- , the owner of the csx and the guy in the video . He said -CENSOR- helped him get his in legal , he also mentioned not cheaply . I then asked -CENSOR- , owner of -CENSOR- , CSX dealer . He said -CENSOR- ( CSX dealer ) has a boarder broker who can get the cars into canada legally . Interestingly the same company -CENSOR- got his roller . So time to make some calls , Will report back . Side note : Still lookin local , checkin out FFR and got a lead on a nice 15yr old U.S. car so lots of irons in the fire , something will pan out

Buy 427snakesc's CSX4995, it's for sale, its local and it's legally registered in Ontario.

Wonder why he's puttng it up for sale after all the hassle he endured importing it into Ontario last summer?

Um ya I don't think I could afford the engine ; Csx XXXX is " champagne wishes and caviar dreams " I'm more a Labbatts Blue hopes and walleye delusions kind of market .

Toronto Autotrader had it listed for 90K USD few months ago.

I hear you sundude , but I don't think anyone involved is trying to do anything dishonest . Besides Its a free plug for the companys . I just talked to XXX and they had no problem explaining the process to me and they don't know me from adam . So here it is , it comes up basically in pieces and they assemble it , per Transport Canada rules , VERY expensive . I would like to thank XXX , -CENSOR- , -CENSOR- and everybody for there help . So my options are build a FFR , 15yrs old U.S. car or something already here legally Why is everything always more $ in Canada

Tried Don at D&D but the phone# I have didn't work . Keep an eye out , if you see something give me a heads up , Thanks guys
(if you guys agree with Sundude tell me And I will wipe it out ) you know what they say just because your paranoid doesn't mean somebody isn't chasing you

Craig, personally, I see absolutely nothing wrong with posting what was seen in an Autotrader ad a few months ago.

All the names I quoted were on the video and XXX has another CSX4xxx for sale on there site , offered it to me , 1000hp 190,000.00 , So no offense to myself but i think any one with a little assumption could figure this all out . Just me ; but you are startin to make me paranoid now . Seriously I think Transport Canada signed off on this car so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they kinda know about it , and I don't think the companys involved are gonna take the hit financially or the bad press if it wasn't on the up and up .
I took me two e-mails and one phone call , but thanks for assuming I'm some kind of Sherlock .

I have just heard directly from 427snakeSC. Clearly he had no idea you -- somedayaurora -- were planning to broadcast the information he exchanged with you via PM on this open forum.

So I repeat: You need to edit your previous posts to remove the names of those involved.

There are many helpful, well-meaning people on this forum and if you want to continue to benefit from their advice, you need to learn what's appropriate to share on an open forum and what's not.

Why so paranoid???? If your car is legal, you have nothing to worry about. After checking this whole thread, you were the first one to "name drop" and it's still there.
