http://www.classicins.com/ Midwest Classic... Robbin Terry.

State Farm, Progressive will not write a Cobra Replica in many States now. Haggerty wants an appraisal showing over $65 k or they will not touch it. Many others have restrictions on mileage and other insane things. Midwest is 1/2 of other companies and that includes TOWING.
It was simple and easy go with them!

State Farm 260.00 a year stated value 47,000 . mileage restriction 7500 miles . I am just over that after 4 years. Have towing insurance for 2.00 and had to be towed last week on a Saturday. Faxed them the bill on Monday and had a check on Thursday. And I live in D.C.

Two years ago I unfortunately had to make a claim, I was (and still am) insured by American Collectors Insurance Co. on my Cobra, and now a GT-H. The cobra was totaled and they gave me the full agreed upon price and an ADDITIONAL 3% FOR INFLATION!!
Hagerty and Grundy would take the Cobra policy.

Smile Midwest Classic

I changed my Cobra insurance about three years ago to

Midwest Classic, Robbin Terry. Saved a bunch of money!

A couple of years ago Robbin insured my 06 Mustang for half of what I was paying ALFA.

I had my Cobra towed one time and they paid me in a couple of days.

So now I'm just wondering who everyone else is using, have they treated you well, are they affordable, and how have you listed your car.

I have State Farm for about $700 annually(8 months) with no mileage or use restrictions. If you get agreed value, what restrictions do you have? When I tried some of the firms quoting agreed value, I could only drive to shows etc. with low miles. Anyone have agreed value without restrictions?

Times 3 for Robbin Terry at Midwest Classic. They wrote an Infinity policy and were very user friendly. I wanted to insure before the car was finished - State Farm won't do that until it is finished, runs and drives.

Default Still need an answer

The Barlow site says no personal use. Midstate seems to say the same. Does anyone have agreed value without the car show etc. only restriction?

Default no agreed value for me

Just spoke to Robbin. If I want to drive to the store in the Cobra, no collector car ins. co. will write the policy. Guess I'll be staying with State Farm.

Another alternative:

http://www.amig.com/contact.html

My agent in CT is:

http://www.classiccarinsurance.com/

Premium based upon agreed value amount, liability amounts and selection of maximum annual miles driven, does not include use for daily transportation, hobby/pleasure use only. They insured the AMX, Vette and Cobra.

Checked with my agent, confirmed the Agreed Value as mentioned

Agreed Value Coverage-
" is coverage where the insured and the insurance company agrees on a value of the vehicle and at the time of the loss your vehicle can not be depreciated "

Default Still too many restrictions

I talked to them in the past. Again, there are restrictions on where you can drive.

Mine is through what is now Chartis (and brokered by branding it as Barrett Jackson - I got mine long before that). When I bought my Cobra Hagerty would not insure a Cobra due to several fatality accidents for which they paid handsomly, so they dropped it. They may be back now. I went to my Farmers agent and he ended up going on line and quoting Grundy, which I already had a quote and it was more! He added his 10%. I couldn't believe it.

The company that actually represents Chartis is a full-service agency and I sent my daily driver and homeowners policies to them. The company is Auto-Owners, and they can write an 1-year policy on the autos. They offer a SUBSTANTIAL (like 25%?) discount if you pay the annual premium fully in advance. I moved all of mine at the same time which gave me a hefty insurance bill due in January. I've since "canceled" the original policy and reinstated them on the same day (with no cancellation fee) in order to stagger them throughout the year.

Our car is insured with our daily drivers and is what the industry calls a "manual policy"because of it being a kit car.
