Default what happened to peter bayer or canaska motorsports

I have a contemporary 289 fia and I'm wanting to put 13 inch rotor wilwood brakes on the front and in a december 1996 kit car illustrated article they had the 289 fia prototype feature and mentioned a trackstar package which included the 13 inch rotar wilwood brakes. I'm trying to find the part numbers they used. Canaska motorsports and Contemporay offered the package. So I've been trying to find Canaska or Peter Bayer. Seems they've just disappeared.

Hey Scott did you see if they'll fit inside a 15" wheel?

Scott,

Is your car the white 289 mule? It had the Canaska red & green stripes?

I don't see why you would need to have custom rotors made...I would say check w/ Wilwood.

On my Contemporary 289FIA, I was running 15 inch PSE FIA wheels with a 12.19 inch rotor w/ a 1 inch vent and Wilwood SuperLite 4 piston calipers and everything cleared in the suspension just fine.

I would think if you ran the SuperLites with a 13 in. rotor provided by Wilwood, it should easily clear.

You may want to check w/ Phil at PSE or it may be on his website, but I know my 15 inch rims had an additional five degree dropoff on the back side of the rim intentionally to fit larger brakes, but that may have been isolated to the 15 inch wheels, not sure.

John, that's my car. Actually, that's my picture of my car in front of my home. I'm still doing my homework. I do think we can make it work without custom work. I just want to make sure what I buy does fit the car without a bunch of hitches. I'm sure everyone can relate to buying expensive parts and finding out there is one little thing that makes it not work. Thanks for everyone's advice. I'm all ears

Scott,

Great looking FIA, I am guessing that you bought it from the McCann Bros.?

I remember they had the white FIA and a yellow 427SC Contemporary full out racer for sale simultaneously on Cobra Country a few years ago...

Hey Scott we talked on the phone my good friend Pat also talked with you about his CCX FIA. He has this kit on his car and has thoroughly track tested it http://www.classicjaguar.com/eng_brake.htm I have one of those kits here that I haven't advertised yet and we also have the option of you sending me a corner off your car as some guys have done and I set up or custom make the brackets and brakes for them.

Default Where have you been???

r scott richey Scott where the Hella you been?? Have not seen you at R&G in a couple of years. The gang is going to Hastings this coming year in Sept. How about a return to the stage. Peter working at the Gauge place next store to the old Contemp store. Some one must have his number. I can get it in May at the Kitcar show in Pa.
Why 13" mothers? Do you want to go through the windscreen? or do nose walks on front wheels? There must be a spacer setup to clear the tierod ends or new front supports(knuckles) Good to see you are still around. Maybe see you in Sept. New Track big open run off areas, 2 fishing ponds to wash car. George,Clois, Dean and that other guy what's his name have been dueinga great job. Hoping for no rain this year. As for the trip, another 400 miles for me to come visit the crazies. This is worth the trip alone. Do you know who's knuckles are on the car now?? There might be a kit from Brembo, Serria, SSBC, or maybe a different brake pad for more stopping grip when at track speed. Rick L.

Hi Rick! Nice to hear from you. I haven't been around because before I take the car to anymore track events I need to stop better because I upped the ante on hp and didn't on the brakes. So the last time I went to the Joliet track I discovered the brakes just didn't do that well when I took the runoff. I put the car in the trailer and swore to my wife i wouldn't go back till bigger brakes on the car. The reason for such monsters is my motto. OVERKILL IS A BEAUTIFUL THING !!!! I'll have to look into Run and Gun this year. It would be great to see everyone and I'm always game for a new track
