Time to play "Name the Manufacturer"
Have not been on in while. Hope you are all well. I am trying to help a new owner identify the make of his car... Need your help. Though it is has the CCX designation, I don't think it is a Contemporary because of the roll bar and rear fenders... Then I thought it might be a LA Exotics but the hood bumpers are not the same from what I have seen... Then I thought it may be an older Classic Carriage (Florida) but again the rollbar and fenders don't match up. I am leaning towards LAE or B&B because of the wide roll bar and wheel offsets (rims on some I have seen too) but Bottom line, I have not a clue.
Look at the hood rests and tell me who has these distinctive rubber bumpers. I will see if I can attach other images..

Based upon my inspection you are right, it is NOT a Contemporary Classic.

The lip of the engine compartment photo is what is throwing me, but yes, all signs point to an early LaExotics/B&B.......

That looks like a 92-95 inch wheelbase ,which should should rule out a lot of makes.  |

My S&C Motorcars has those lips, so does the SMC which came after S&C.

I'd say B&B the rollbar looks like a 14" wide, dropped centre on glass dash, footbox shapes and that deep lip on the body all look B&B 2 me. Also the rear fender has no lip on the flare and you can see the seats sitting up above the double frame rails with the footbox dropped between them. Definetely B.

Hi stranger
To me it looks like an SMC. I have only been involved with one but since the photos don't really show the firewall and hood lock down holes or methods I can't tell. Also the seat mounting area looks like an SMC. been years tho. After really lookiong at the pics I really think its an SMC. Is the car in the Dallas area? There was a green one here in my shop a few years ago. Seats were mounted to the floor by self tapping screws. A real death trap.

I knew someone would be able to help  . I am not familiar with SMC so any info on that company would be good to post for Gary for when he logs in. Gary is in Houston and called me to ask if I could help him identify the car that he bought from California. This is the first one that stumped me in a long time but I don't have Jay's yeeeeeeeeeeears of experience

No one mentioned that it might be an SC or CAW
This is probably a late 80's SC or,because its in Cal., A Cobra Auto Works Replica.They are well built cars with rugged frames. Check under the dash, look at the fuse box cover for a name. The Frame number, stamped on top of the right frame rail will have either OK or SC( then its an SC car) or CAW then its a Cobra Auto works. All well built cars. I've had three...its the best yet.
