Jack, that might be it. I thought he was standing and the car was behind him in a side shot or a 3/4 shot. I could be wrong. I remember him looking away though.
Fox, the one you shared was probably shot the same day. This is the way I remember him being dressed and the way he was looking. The dark slab sided car behind him but a side shot. Nice picture the one you found.
I tried the e-mail for Wallace Wyss but it didn't work. Did some searching and don't have a contact for him. Anyone know how to reach him?

In the pictures I have he is wearing a black suit - black jacket, tie, and pants. It appears to be a white car.
Anyway, if you think this could be what you are looking for and want to see it, send me a PM with your address and I will mail you a copy.
Jack

It may have been a white car. It may have been the car that got painted all those different colors. The thing I really remember about it is that it's a slab side w/ wires and whitewalls.
PM sent.
Still can't get through on the email. Will call. Thanks for that.

Hi fellas,
The email worked. Wallace Wyss got back to me and I just emailed him what I'm looking for.
Jack, PM sent.
Thanks to all. I think we'll find this one, and of course, I'll share.

Update.
Kayakjack shared these photos with me. They are copies ohf his original pieces and he has graciously permitted me to share them here.
I was able to communicate with Wallace Wyss through email. He suggested the Shelby Museum. I feel like a dummy. It must be there.
I'm going to Vegas this week so will check there.
Notice the female model is wearing white gloves and a tiara!

I don't have the photo but recognize the neighborhood
It is most likely Playa del Rey, which is a small beach community below Venice, very close to LAX (in fact under the flight path). Shelby later owned an apartment house there and possibly one or two private homes. It was 5 minutes drive to the LAX Shelby factory.
Shelby had the first Cobra polished out to a high sheen and even lettering put on the side writ large. There are pictures in several books of him driving his secretary/girlfriend around Willow or maybe Riverside in the car so finished, maybe before it was painted yellow by Dean Jeffries. I wish I had that picture because it shows Shelby before he became the big businessman he became in the next couple of years--he almost looks like a hobbyist proud of what he built in his back yard (or Dean Moon's rented garage).
