X2 on the 5 point, you won't regret it. On a 4-point you tighten the waist first, then when you tighten the shoulder straps, the waist belts ride up unless you have the 5-point "anti-sub".

We installed the harness this weekend, works great. Hi Tech thought ahead and drill the upper frame support and also slit the fiberglass. You need to get a Y harness I got a pair of Simpson cam locks they work great.

Jack the car and remove the rear tires. Look up under the shock mounts you will see a frame cross member about the same height as the back of the seats. Find the slit in the fiberglass and cut thru from the back with a razor blade. The holes need a 3/8" x 3" bolt (2) large washers, lock washer and nut. You have to install the bolt from the top due to an angle cross member below. Open end wrehch for top and ratchet for below.

On the floor you will need to remove the seats. SPF has eyebolts on the floor and you will need to install 7/16" x 2" for the lap belt mount.

This only takes about 45 minutes and I saved 650.00 from having the dealer install.

Hope this helps

Rick

As was mentioned earlier, you really should consider adding the 5th submarine belt to a four point. It's not only about safety, it's just logical. You cannot tighten down the shoulder straps enough without pulling up the waist straps, which puts the lower belt in the middle of your stomach. It's uncomfortable and ackward, not to mention incredibly dangerous in an actual collision when you rupture your innards. A typical three point belt would actually provide better protection without serious secondary injury concerns from the belt system.

On another note, some tracks are not allowing a Y type harness, you won't be able to run on those tracks with one.

Frankly, I don't know why they even allow a four point belt of any design... Should be three or five.
