Screeching master cylinder?

Whenever I jam down hard on the brake pedal, there's a loud screeching sound. It sounds like it's coming from the master cylinder. My car isn't even on the road yet. This happens when I'm just sitting in the garage. I have a lot of pedal and the brakes seem to be functioning properly. Anyone ever hear of a problem like this or have any ideas on how I can figure out what's going on? Thanks...
