Default Anti-vibration couplings on cobra sterring

Ouestion: Is anyone using one of those anti-vibration sterring couplings on their cobras?
If so, what is the performance difference..with or without?

Borgeson makes several couplings for this purpose , pricey $110.00, are they worth it?

Any comments will be appreciated, Bill

I have the Borgeson one on my build from day one so I can't tell you what the difference would be. I can say that I have absolutely no vibration at any speed.

Bill,
It AII depends on where the vibration is coming from? If you are sure it is from the "Rack" to the Wheel then Borgenson or Flaming River would take out all vibration! Being a builder of RODS AND COBRA for a long time, we have used both with great success.

Mis-alignment on the steering shafts, Wheel balance, wrong tires, wheels Tie rods, Ball Joints etc. are a whole different situation.

Just "Steering?" a great fix.

If you are referring to the rubber donut style vibration damper, consider its location in regards to your headers. You might melt it…Maybe finding the source of the vibration would be a better exercise.
Wheel balance is a common problem. I found that balancing my tires (I used the Road Force Balancing system) at the same tire pressure that I actually run the tires at rather than at the normal 32 psi made a huge difference. I put new tires on 2 weeks ago and they are smooth as glass on the road - first attempt at balancing.

My steering shaft passes between the header tubes. Not a friendly environment for a rubber isolator. Your application may differ, but most Cobras I've seen have a similar layout.

put the coupler way up by the steering wheel shaft. It can be mounted anywhere on the shaft including al the way down by the rack.
