Default Things that make you want to cry

I was going through some old files and ran across this ad that I ran in the LA Times in '77. I was a starving student at the time and was literally just looking for my next meal! This one had the first 406 cross-bolt with tri-power, cast headers, etc. Black with red interior. Loved that car!!
Hey, at least I was "firm" on the price!!!

Best year Galaxie! You can't get a good one for under $30K these days. I'd happily pay your full asking price if you still have it!

That same exact thing in value is going on today.....if only we knew which one or ones and had a good 33 years left!

I bought a worn out "Funny Car" in 1970 for $800 from a Texas oil brat in Tyler, Texas and later sold it for $1,000 to go finish grad school.

1965 Ford Fairlane (small body, rear wheels moved up about a foot and yes, had "the" SOHC motor). I can't barley look at the pictures now without crying.

"69 Charger SE (383 w/auto) in "goldenrod" with a white vinyl top. My first car - I bought it in '82 for $175 and sold it a few years later for $1,500 to go to college. Can't touch one in the same shape today for less than $25k.

I'll never forget when the LA Times ad came out on Monday morning. Got a call at 6:15am that day and the guy was in my driveway by 7am. He was walking down the driveway with $400 in his hand, stuffed it in my hand and said "it's mine, right?". Never even went out back to look at the car until I took the money!! The guy knew what I had. Probably one of YOU guys!! Come clean if you're out there!! I am really trying to track that car down....
