Flip, what it might lack in soul, it makes up for in awesomeness. :)

I believe it does, but it may be that they are JIT based and only build and finish to order. I would be building body components ahead and finish to order. Maybe they don't.

The imbalance is probably going to be worse now that HST is no more and the lag to shift production to Vegas. A whole production line will have to be moved. The Cobra shop in Vegas is a finishing/detailing are, not a manufacturing area so space will have to be found and tooling installed and staff hired and trained. I would guess 6 months before it's back on line. Some of the lifers at the prison might still be around :)

30 days to go before the SAI $ 10,000.00 price increase on CSX cars. Time to get off the fence and save some dough before December 1st................

ng8264723 11-03-2010 06:11 AM

a $10,000 dollar increase is ridulous. What is it based on? Are you getting more? Screw them! If that was the only Cobra available I would go Chevy. What a bunck of asses. No matter what you try to do there in now way to justify that type of increase. Kudo's to FFR for keeping costs down. Despite the Ahole lawsuits every 6 months

Excaliber 11-03-2010 07:05 AM

Speaking of FFR (flame suit on) I personally don't care for the "look" with that perky butt and exposed fuel tank on the original models. BUT, the Mark IV is looking so much better, I could actually see myself in one of those. :)

Allan A 11-03-2010 01:10 PM

I love it when the price goes up, please keep moving in the right direction.

Allan

The free market economy. ;)

ACademic 11-03-2010 02:09 PM

Hey, the government announced today that they are going to print another $600 billion. So now the $10K increase is completely justified.

Igofastr 11-03-2010 02:38 PM

Agree about the FF5 rearends, look pretty good nowadays.

As for the "free market"...yes it is, which is why they'll lose market share with the price hike.

Buy a Kirkham, instead.

Excaliber 11-03-2010 02:49 PM

Well a smaller market share, less volume and higher prices has worked out well for some companies. Ferrari comes to mind, Porsche, Bugatti, many others.

The big difference is, those other companies don't face stiff competition from "replica manufacturers". Had Shelby won the recent FFR lawsuit as it concerns the trade mark issues, a $10K increase would the tip of the ice berg! :)

While the opinion of the court placed the Shelby's as virtually identical to a replica, reality is, many will not see it that way. And that's OK, it is, after all is said and done, a genuine Shelby product. Brand names carry weight in the free market.

Allan A. is not out of line, less buyers, more exclusivity for the marque. Actually, I concur, there are to many replicas out there already. Raise the price's across the board, I got mine! :) :)

Market share is one way to go. As said, maybe SAI wants to raise the brand's exclusivity, maybe they see a market share drop, but an increase in profit margin may more than offset the loss of market share.

Some consumers vote with their pocketbook and make a bang-for-the-buck value-based decision, others don't care one way or another and they pay the piper for the "geniune" article.

Maybe they're raising the price becaase they're just plain running out of CSX numbers in the four figures and don't want to make a CSX 10,000.

Dominik 11-05-2010 11:19 PM

Anthony is right, the CSX chassis takes forever to weld and then bend the birdcage to support the body, and the doors...
Maybe not $10.000, but you can't compare the round tube chassis and rectangular. Even if only for looks! (Wanted to say aesthetics, but didn't know how to spell)

stephen_becker 11-20-2010 07:07 PM

Bump!

10 days to go to save $ 10,000.00

:-)

Keithc8 11-20-2010 11:59 PM

Well Stephen maybe some of us should buy all the cars you have in stock before the price increase and then we can work together to sell them to customers down the road. looks like this would be the thing to do because if they are left at your place they will have to be sold for 10,000.00 more if I understand this right. So I can buy all that you have in stock and in ten days every dealer has to sell the new cars he gets plus any left on his show room for 10,000.00 more. I just do not see these other dealers doing that with cars that they got cheaper if they are trying to move cars and make deals.
I assume that you have already paid for the cars setting there and that if you get any more they will cost you more, or is this just a retail price increase and new cars will cost you the same. Just trying to take all of this in and how it will work. Because if the cars all go up 10,000.00 I could buy any that are out there now and resale them for 5000.00 more down the road and still be below what the dealer can sell them for. This does not make since to me. Maybe we buy them and build them complete and sell them, that might work. Let me know how this can be done.

Thanks, Keith

ACademic 11-21-2010 10:32 AM

I was thinking along the same lines as Keith. The only caveat is that flipping a CSX (in this lumbering economy, and especially ensuring you have the most popular color/stripe combo) is easier said than done. An easy $5K if you select the right combo and can market it aggressively. For builders like Keith, should be even easier.

madmaxx 11-21-2010 01:17 PM

I wish they would all go up by $20K, Kirkham, Shelby, SPF, Backdraft, Factory Five, I imagine the majority of particpants on this forum is owners. I doubt you will all have your cobras until you die, soooooooo, if they all increased in price your used one would also increase in price!!!!!! Let not shoot ourselves guys, I applaud Shelby and hope SPF and the others will join in, they deserve a price increase!!!!!

stephen_becker 11-21-2010 09:06 PM

I do not have any CSX 6000 cars in stock - Ordering a car at the $ 49,995.00 MSRP is good until 12/01

:o

rodneym 11-21-2010 09:22 PM

Any dealers out there not interested in renewing their Shelby dealership status who might sell at the the old price once Dec 1st hits?;)

stephen_becker 11-24-2010 02:46 PM

Seven days left!!

Save $ 10,000.00
