Good question for a change. Didn't have the foresight to weigh them brand new, unmounted. But mounting my Billboards, the fronts are 35 total and the rears 41 total. My old TD's were 36 and 43.
Dunlop Qualifiers were about 10-12 pounds heavier.

YOU GUYS!!!
This is not the same magnesium that goes in your Centrum Senior vitamins.
We're talking about a magnesium alloy, which is more than likely an aerospace grade.
Geez.
At any rate, the price will be the price. We will decide with our pocket books.

Uh-huh... I'll take that as a thinly veiled capitulation. I win. ERA Chas also loses because he aligned himself, ever so slightly, on your side of the debate.

Yep, first time in a long time that he's used logic and/or facts.
I was actually surprised he didn't make up some percentage. He actually gave us a chart/graph.

What patrickt forgot to show was the chart from the 3 years PRIOR to his, which shows Mg shooting up from .65 to over $2/LB.
http://www.metalprices.com/FreeSite/metals/mg/mg.asp
My car costs only $1150 in steel. Damnit, I been robbed!!!
For your information, patrickt, I have NEVER capitulated. Not even when I was 13 and saw Holley Haney from across the street in her bikini.

The ones I just sold where around 20 lb’s boxed each, but one of the new owners might chime in.
I am all so waiting to see what the cost is going to be on these new ones if and when it may happen, I bet they won’t be cheap.

Then a hefty 30 cent per pound increase in magnesium would account for a sticker shock of about six bucks more per wheel, correct? Even if you doubled, tripled, quadrupled that number it's still pretty much nothing. That's why I stand by my previous bogus assessment.

Be careful what you wish for...that's not just a color.

I know what you're implying, but....
Honestly, I have a great affinity for things that are well used. Not abused, mind you.
It sort of reminds me of Clapton's strat, 'Blackie'.
IMO, inanimate objects only develop character through use and time. They had nothing to do with their own design but they were there every step of the way for it's journey. And sometimes it shows in just the right ways.
Back to your original comment...

AGREED.
Mine's too new to let it go just yet. But give it time.
