Has anyone heard what the price of CSX2080 was at yesterdays auction?

I would add that the first group of standard side vent cars had 'cut out' type vents. Later cars had vents that were separate pieces screwed on.

With an estimate at $425K-$475K and a sale at $425K Donnie knows his cobra prices and it now will only take another $300K for a complete restoration for the new owner.

Another $300k for a complete restoration? Why not just get the car in safe running condition and drive it? I'm sure that could be done for a reasonable amount of money. The torn seats and peeling paint are just part of the patina.

Donnie had the car all tuned etc. I have seen both patina and restored this car looks as if it has spent the last 30 years in the florida sun and for $425K give me restored.

The story about the car is true. I know because my father Dr. Goodson was the original owner. He sold the car when I turned sixteen for obvious reasons. He sold it to a dealer in GA who immidiately sold it to Windham. Windham and my father became friends later in life. Discovery channel will be presenting a feature on the car in July 2011 and features an interview with me. Here is a recent news story with a photo of the auction where I drove it onto the stage: http://www.artdaily.com/index.asp?in...&int_new=45523. I can say that it was is the same beast now as when I remembered it as a little boy groing up.
