Borgeson, Flaming River and all use 3/4 as their standard. They are also available in aircraft aluminum 3/4. I like steering to be steel personally. Make sure you put a groove or indent with any u-joints to stop them pulling apart. There was a guy on here a couple of months back that suffered from DD (dangerous disassembling) problems.
