Say A Prayer For Flyin Freddie! R.I.P.
Saw this post by Doug Reed on Facebook today. Sad!
Flyin Freddie, a great friend with our Cobra group has been given only a few days to live. Damn cancer! Words can't describe his vest for life and cheerful attitude. Always high on life. Heading to Memphis tomorrow to say good bye....damn this is tough. JUST NOT FAIR.

That crap is everywhere! Going to a memorial service tonight for a family friend who died of stomach cancer this week. Just found out that one of our local Cobra members is fighting terminal bone cancer. This is too much.

I enjoyed Freddie's company and words here and on the SPF forums. He always brought cheer and light whenever he was present. I am hoping the doctors are wrong. :-(

I met Freddie a few years back doing a project for FedEx where he worked. While in the office I heard him talking about his Cobra. I've always had an interest in Cobras so I immediately struck up a conversation. It wasn't much longer after that he invited me to Cobra breakfast and met some of the local Cobra guys. I was hooked! Cool cars and great people. Next thing you know it I was sending Cobra pictures that were for sale to him left and right asking for his opinions. Not much longer I purchased my Superformance. I went to the hospital yesterday evening along with two of long time friends Ron Frohs 18 yrs and Brian (Hydramada) 16 yrs. It was very sad. It was obvious these guys were best of friends and have had many memorable times together. I know these guys will be around to support Freddie's wife and twins. I've been taken on extra work for the last few years and as of yesterday I have begun to tell people no more side work. I've rarely had a day off in 3 years and I'm missing spending time with friends and loved ones and that includes having breakfast with my friend Fred Rice. My prayers to him, his family and all that have been touched by him. He will be deeply missed yet his stories will live on.........

It saddens me to hear this - I am sure his next chapter will be even better than this one.

I don't know Freddie, but his smile looks like it would light up the room. My thoughts go out to Freddie, his family, and his Texas Cobra friends.

Freddie...It appears that a lot of people love you. Love is the greatest gift of all. You are a rich man.

I met FF once, at an annual meet. Great guy who livened things up for all around. This sucks. Freddie, keep fighting, brother. We're all thinking of you.

What sad news, Freddie the few times I spoke to him, was always jovial and full of life. He spoke with great love for his twins, our prayer are for him and his family.

Doug Reed is over visiting this weekend so I'm sure we'll get an update when he returns but based on some of the posts I'd say things do not look good. Tonight met with 3 other Cobra buddie couples for dinner in down town Plano Texas and had a few 12 year old Scotches in toast to our friend Freddie. God Bless our friend...........

Talking to Brian this evening...him, Ron, Doug and Glenn went to visit Fred for a little this evening. The Cobra guys/friends are really stepping in helping his wife out with many issues dealing with this situation. Brian said Fred was in higher spirits and was up and walking around so they just had a short visit and left early so that Fred's wife and him could have some time for themselves. I'm really proud of Ron and Brian who are long time friends of Freds. Fred is really blessed.
