Because he was wise enough to realize that a work of art is never finished, it is merely abandoned.

I asked myself the same question...I do know that he has a "Hangar" full of other toys...and yes, I literally mean a "Hangar" full...

When we were going through everything, he was mentioning some of the other "toys" he had...and the best way to describe it would be...go pick up this months issue of Dupont Registry, close your eyes, flip to 10 different pages and pick 3 on each page, lol.

Most of the 427 Roush engines have DART blocks. I expect this one does too. IMO: Unfortunately the cost of building, driving 200 miles and selling will be about $20k. It is worth no more than $80k unless another comes along with deep pockets and in a hurry. Even then you might say for $80k I can build exactly what I want to build without all the expensive extras!

Bull, it's worth what he can get someone to pay for it. To him anyway.

Of course, but there are very few buyers for this kind of deal. I bought a Cobra with 1,700 miles and the original owner lost $20k. And the this Cobra sat on Cobra Country for several months. He had at least $75k in it and I bought it for $55k. I agree, someone can walk into the shop tomorrow and pay full price.

True, but this is also why the OP's two statements in this thread seem to be in such conflict. On one hand he's not a "blue skier" who will pay too much, but he is going to go drive it and see if he wants to make an offer. Unless he plans on a real low ball offer or is only driving it as a benchmark to use in checking out other cars for sale, he has pretty much ignored everything said in this thread that is directed towards his original question.

I learned a lot about the car, it's history, who built it etc. on here. I've seen it and judged it well done. After I get over this head cold I'll drive it and go from there. Whether or not I'll even make an offer depends a lot on the butt meter. Regarding price, I've been making comparisons where I can find them. You were all a lot of help.

I can't shake my first impression on that thread:

It is a sales pitch...

I'm that much off on this one?

His bio says he lives in Florida. The car is in Irvine, Ca. If he's flying out to drive it, I would say he is serious about making some kind of an offer if it lives up to his expectations.

Car is not in California...Car was originally ordered and purchased through Hillbank Motor Sports which is located at the Superformance HQ in Irvine, CA...the car is currently in Florida at Gulf Coast Motorworks - one of Superformance/Shelby's newest dealers.
