Never trust a Rodney in a Kirkham who's bent on magnesium wheels. He might whack you over the head with a heavy Trigo.
BTW, I sent an email to "you know who" just now.
One of the reasons I chose bare aluminum is that I likely could never make up my mind on a color, but black would certainly be at the top of the list. Bill's car looks amazing and I might even consider going down to Monterey to monitor the bidding.
A SOHC is a SOHC and I know Bill's car is as reliable and meticulously built as they come.
I remember when Bill was putting this car together and I contacted him as I have a 427 SOHC motor as well. I contacted him as both of us had purchased some parts or had some dealings with the unscrupulous Butch Engelbrecht of San Diego. In any event, he went through quite an ordeal getting this car completed and it is unfortunate that he is selling it. It is an extremely well built car and whomever buys it is getting something of very high quality.
From what I understand, this car has been advertised at $140K with no deals.
However, the combination of the Cobra's 50th Anniversary, the death of Mr. Shelby and the general exuberance exhibited at a Monterey auction may get it to that number.
You would think that this should set the bar for all fiberglass CSX4000's in this market.
