Received my copy on Christmas Eve. It was in impeccable condition, and it is a wealth of information.

I hate to sound like Elaine, in the episode of Seinfeld, where George gives her a nice Cashmere sweater, and she almost immediately notices an almost imperceptible red spot on it, but as I was initially thumbing through my copy of the registry, I noticed on page 478, in the “427 Cobra Specifications” table, the bore and stroke are listed as 4.24 and 3.87.

Every other document I have seen lists these as 4.23 and 3.78 (when shown to two decimal places). It appears the 3.87 is probably just a typo of transposing the 3.78, and maybe just a typo with the 4.24, also. It is correct that 4.23 and 3.78 are what should be here, right? I mean, if it were 4.24 and 3.87, it would be a “437” instead of a “427”.

I’m probably not the first one to notice this, and while it is somewhat of a minor detail in such a massive amount of information, since it is prominently displayed in the main table of 427 specifications, I think that this is one place where it would be desirable to have the correct information presented.

I tried the publisher’s website listed in the front and back of the book (www.kopec-eber-publishing.com) and got an internet explorer error that it wasn’t found. There are several people listed in the back (pg 1605) for updating registry information for individual cars for the next edition, but I wasn’t sure who this type of information should go to. Someone here probably knows who the correct contact person is, if you could please pass it along. (Would Ron (Computerworks) be a the man?)

The guy you would want to contact is Ned Scudder, he is the cobra registrar. His id on Club Cobra is Nedsel.

In terms of the kopec-eber-publishing.com website, I'm not surprised that website it no longer available. I believe that Ken Eber left SAAC as part of the agreement of the legal dispute between Shelby and SAAC.
