Default coolant over flow ? on my superformance

Hi Guys, when I fill up the coolant tank up , it pisses it out to 1/2 way. I would like to use a coolant over flow tank. I have the room. Do i have to change out the cap? engine is 402 s/r . also what should the cap presure be ?

The coolant "expansion" tank I believe you are referring to, will want to be about half empty so there is room for expansion of the coolant. There is an internal baffle (reach in with a finger and you will feel it and the large hole in it) It will tend to seek the proper fluid level if overfilled. Usually on your garage floor.
The optional overflow tank is mounted in the front right corner of the engine compartment usually. There are many versions available, and they come as a "catch can" only, or a "catch can with return". The latter is just a catch can with a syphon tube inside to return liquid.

You will need a seal inside the top of the cap to seal it to the top of the filler neck.
