Does anyone know if all 50th anniversary Shelby Cobra continuations are sold?

Just located this thread and I'm LMAO. Real Cobra means an aluminum body from Poland? Didn't AC do those? Not to denigrate Kirkham or Shelby continuation, but real to most people means original 1960's.
Would I try to pass my SPF GT40 off as a real GT40? It's a continuation replica, but no way real.

Remember, Real1 is from Joisey.

I wonder if his wristwatch is a "Folex?"

Think how much more orderly and reality based this whole site would be if Evan had "Read Only Access".

[quote=NewYorkGuy;1304921]I don't.........................
In 1962, an original cobra was about $6-7K which equals to about $50-55K today. So $50K should get u into the driver's seat for a simple go fast fun hot rod.........................

QUOTE]

Better check your math, in 1962 a base Corvette was $4038. $6-7k is 40% on top of that...........A lot of money in 1962.

As a comp: I know in 1961 my uncle bought his first home in the West End (good section) of Allentown. A new 1800 sqft all brick ranch single for $11,000.

The analogy is not quite the same. Superformance produces the continuation GT40's under license from Safir. Ford produced the original GT40's. The continuation Shelby Cobra's are produced by Shelby American, which also produced the original Shelby Cobra's.

But they're all replicas though.

Having read some (perhaps too much) of this thread the first thought that comes to mind is 'mature adults don't need insults to communicate'.

Clearly, each individual has their own reasons and biases with regard to their preferences, and it seems some members have a lower tolerance than others with regard to their ability to accept and respect the view of others.

Let's keep this cordial and play nice with others.

Not sure I thought I read they were all spoken for but not sure if all built. Not sure if it's a "continuation."

I took the fact that he was the threadstarter into account.

I was talking to a Ford engineer at the F1 race in Montreal. Interesting history on aluminum bodied cars in the past. I didn't know next years F150 was going to be an aluminum body or panels.

Is there much of a record of any of the continuations being sold from the original owners?

In fact, since I'm feeling pretty good right now (just settled a class action suit favorably my defendant client), Evan and buddyg can come back in if they will simply keep the personal barbs to a minimum. Pretty please.

I suppose for some of the companies it is nice to have a bit of an order backlog when you have a low volume product to make. It can help you plan out your finances. If you scale up to more employees, a larger building, more tooling to try to fill orders immediately or as quickly as possible, you might run into a dry spell and have to think about layoffs, downsizing and selling off some stuff before the next wave of orders comes in. Slow and steady can be nicer than feast and famine.

It is not just SAI you need to wait for. There is usually a wait time for a Kirkham or an ERA (but hopefully not as long as SAI).

Ohh... That $160k SAI roller has some price competition.

Kirkham Coupe, base price for roller, $175K.
