This is a good demo of a capability that can be used to teach others. I see on here all the time due to toe emissions and other rules in Australia that they even put Chevy motors I. Cobras because ford didn't have a crate motor. Now they do and it fits in a cobra. It might not be old school but it is all ford!

What's all the pissin' about? I am an old fart who has always believed that "You gets' what you pay for"! I understand that a kit car uses pre-owned donar parts when assembled. A Hand built Replica only uses new custom, by hand made parts. Any cobra that is owned and being on the road is someones Pride and Joy. If it lacks "P and J", it is sold and becomes someone elses Pride and Joy. Like all hobbies, it is not a contest, but a way of passing time in a most rewarding way. To be a hobby, all it takes is to feel good inside. No matter what looks or performs like. Thats just an old farts way of looking at things.

Mother you said it well owning these cars is not a contest it is a hobby. But it seems the forums are turning into these pissin matches. I used to look forward in the morning to setting down in front of the computer and visit the forums. Getting to be too much "he said she said" "my dad can beat up your dad" my kit is correct with an FE yours is not. When I was a kid never imagined adults acting like this. I was wrong, thankfully the mouse makes avoiding the bickering quite easy. Every once in a while jump into a fray when something touches nerve must be the human nature thing.

If you don't know who wrote it, just say so.

The term of phase " conflict of interest" certainly comes to mind.

This is one aspect of this pissin match that I've never heard discussed - does SAAC have a conflict of interest in producing the Registry?
Wait - there's a pizza guy at the door. Be right back...

No piss'n matches as far as I'm concerned. Just keeping the facts straight on a public forum when incorrect/inaccurate BS is posted and spewed.
Yes, Jay Carney could take a lesson here on 1. How to say incorrect and misleading crap/BS (from the usual CSX envy peanut gallery) which he is already very proficient at and 2. if he wanted to actually stop spewing BS and see and learn how to say it like it is he could certainly learn from yours truly.
Ron: My "amusing facts" are taken from the SAAC Registry. I don't spin this stuff from whole cloth. The reason I don't buy an original is that #1. I get sufficient enjoyment out of mine and it has already consumed enough disposable income into the six figures and I have other places I'd rather spend any extra disposable income #2. It is a genuine Shelby Cobra nearly exact down to every detail to the original series providing me the same driving experience #3. What non Continuation owners say doesn't bother me in the least as their statements and opinions amount to 0 as far as authority and recognition #4. My responses are merely for keeping the facts straight on a worldwide public forum where many visit looking for information and I can't have their BS go unchallenged and uncorrected #5. I am heartened by the fact that Ron61 agrees for the most part with all I have said.

You would think by now that horse should be reduced to dust would be great if that were true. But, we all know better as long as anyone feels their pride and joys is better than the next guys or whatever the reason you can bet that Horse is far from Dead. So many other forums have plenty of horse flesh to beat on.
It seems along with age comes less tolerance for this sort of thing.

It's all very simple to me with csx. If the car was built in 1965, then it's a real 1965 cobra. If the car was built in 2001 then it's a real 2001 cobra. When you call or title the car as 1965 then you are replicating something. Presenting the car as something it's not.
Face it, it sucks saying I have a real 2001 cobra because outsiders think you have a mustang or god forbid a kit. Fact is you have a beautiful car, arguably better than the 1965 version.
Everyone here knows what's what. Enjoy your car and thank god for them because I'm sure that few of us would ever be able to afford a " real " one...! Truth

Evan, you are slowly morphing into a troll, who ruins threads and takes them off topic... under the guise of preserving the brand.
Please...think before you take yet another thread off topic.
Thanks

I saw this car in person last week at SEMA and it was gorgeous. Somebody spent an enormous amount of time prepping the body for paint...it was flawless!!! I couldn't find a ripple in the body and that says a lot about the builder, especially since the car is painted black.

Longer.
Uh, Ron, if you go back and read this thread carefully you will see it was not me (once again) who began with the off topic comments and opened the door or more accurately invited my reply. You will also note that I tried afterword to stay on topic but others pursued the "dreaded" is it real discussion.
But as usual you blame me. Some things never change around here.
Further, I'm not the troll. Those who insist on provoking the issue with demeaning comments are the trolls which you as a moderator allow. Maybe you should go back and read your old sticky thread about respect and remind others. Then when my retorts come in that's when you step in. Seems like you are enabling the trolls to me and then accuse me when I respond. Not very fair moderating in my book.
Thanks.
