And there's that lateral support I was talking about! Unfortunately, not so easy to roll around under your Cobra with it. Change tires? OK.

Like one poster mentioned, jackstands don't provide any more lateral support/stability. If anything a bit less because their bases are even narrower, so I really don't see the reasoning behind all the concern.

I wonder if it would be more stable if you used them perpindicular to the rails as opposed to parallel.

Thanks to everyone has or will post. I've go an inquiry in to the manufacturer to see if any have been delivered to my neck of the woods so I can see one in action and get an idea if there are any potential problems with clearance or positioning.
I'll post an update when I hear back from them.

They are advertising in my latest Hot Rod magazine with a pic of a black Cobra up in the air.

Dumpling:
Quick calculation on spacing between wheels with tires mounted. I run 275/40/17 fronts and 315/35/17 rears both of which have a posted diameter or 25.7". Given a 90" wheel base that puts the distance between the back of the front tire and front of the back tire at 64.3".
On paper, it should clear but that's purely theoretical. Still waiting on more information from the manufacturer.

In the video it looks like the support block is under the floor pan. Not a good idea on some cars. What happened to the old exhaust lift bag idea.?
Lift one side, place the jack stands. Then the other side. I would not get under the car wrenching on a big suspension bolt with this system.

Does anyone have firsthand experience lifting their Cobra with one of these PendPak QuickJacks? Understand a 5000 lb version is going to be released soon. Would be nice in the tight confines of my small garage.

I don't know how to calculate the strength of the tubing. But at 3500 lbs, each tube is only holding up 440lbs.
As for the bolts shearing, if they were 1/2" grade 8 bolts, each one is good for 17,000lbs.

I am very concerned about the SAFETY issue, I am OCD if not anal about safety . While I have limited garage space I would not risk being crushed by my own car. I don't have the room available for a 4 post lift so I have to do it the old fashioned way one side at a time and jack stands.
