Yes, part of it is modern compounding but the steering response is so much more precise with low aspect ratio's I would never go back. There is also the problem of tire distortion under high loads
with large aspect ratios especially with poor suspension geometry. There is a reason that the automobile and tire companies gravitated toward larger wheel diameters, they are better.
This guy knows PERFORMANCE, when it comes to Cobras Bruce is a God...

No disrespect... I'm aware of Bruce's achievements (outstanding by the way), but I'll see your cobra god, and raise you Morris.

Morris has addressed and solved the biggest problems with Cobras, bad aerodynamics, my car would not stand a chance with him on a road course because the body is stock. If we were in a low speed autox the results would be different. We had different goals in developing our cars and I think we both succeeded.

I go fishing to catch me a "65 racing ford" and I catch me a "3170 cobra".
Oh brother... Obviously I used the wrong bait...

Oh well. While I got you on the line $500 say I got you beat!
In fact YOU can even pick the car I RACE YOU IN.
Track - you've already nominated Willow Springs.
I'll even pay for my own entry.
All you have to do is cover my expenses to get there.

Let's see if you're brave enough to take that challenge on.
