Those two cars look worlds apart, maybe the Ace was inspired by the Ferrrari, but knock-off no can do. The Ace a whole lot closer to an MG

Yes, yes, yes... by jove you've got it. The nose of the Ace was inspired by the 166MM, as the tail was inspired by the MGA...

... as my FFR was inspired by the Shelby AC Cobra.

I wonder what my FFR will inspire? (Wait for it... wait for it... I get the feeling someone with a real one will have an answer for that.)

I was expecting something more along the lines of disdain.

Not at all, you have it dead nuts on. Way back when a mutt of AC body/bone structure was bred with Ford V8 power. So impressive was this mutt that it quickly became recognized as a new breed altogether. A pedigree was established, DNA makeup documented and the rest is history.

No problem. Glad I can help. AL427SBF has been right on the money in his posts. Just follow him and you'll be fine.

To say that your FFR was "inspired" by the Shelby Cobra is certainly using that term VERY loosely. That's OK since this entire thread is all about imposter cars or fakeydoos no point in using terms appropriately. Consistency is the key here so it's OK.

The shape of the FFR wasn't "inspired" by the Cobra. Nope. The Cobra did inspire FFR to copy/duplicate the shape. Subtle but Big difference.

What will your FFR inspire? Absolutely nothing from an automotive standpoint. From an enthusiast standpoint hopefully it will inspire more people getting into the "Cobra/Cobra replica (fakeydo) hobby. That's a good thing..and that ain't bad for something thats totally fake.

Cheers.
