"Pay no mind"? Really, this comes from a Nissan Leaf owner, who someday, 2 years from now maybe, wants to buy a replica Porsche 550 Spyder to carry his heavy pet food bags from Petco instead of taking them on the NY subway and yet finds the time to post on a Cobra forum in between the exhausting hours he spends watching the Tour De France on TV.

As for the advice, the new owner had questions, I stepped up and answered them.

Who cares about fuel line? Uh, well an owner who's concerned about increasing the resale value of his Shelby Cobra that he just bought "under market." That's who.

Who cares about tires? Uh, someone concerned about their safety in a light car with lots of HP on terrible tires.

As for the thread on washing your Cobra, I assume most of us that take care of our Cobras, especially new owners who have not washed an open cockpit car before, may need help/advice washing them.

And the "this is a real Cobra" comment is not cool. And you know why.

NYG, here's some more advice for you. Move along to the Beck Spyder forum that someone gave the link to you a week or two ago. And talk some smack about VW vs. Subaru engines.
Rodknock: While NYGUY deserved a kick in the pants in past for previous posts and "threads" he started his last post was a good one.

#1. Whats wrong with saying welcome aboard. Its a common welcome. I used it myself.

#2. You are reading way too much into his comment on the fuel lines I think. My read on it is all he meant was to just enjoy the car and worry about "aesthetics" later.

#3. I don't see where he commented on the tire issue. Maybe I missed that one. If he did you could merely point out the real safety issue with the BFG's. No need to attack.

#4. He likes 550 Spyders. So? He obviously likes Cobras too and has an interest them.

#5. He drives a Nissan. No doubt many others here do too. So what ...again.

#6. As to washing Cobras, ....I've never washed mine so maybe you could edjamacate me on that subject.

#7. The OP commented on his dream of owning an aluminum bodied Shelby Cobra one day. Whats uncool about NYGUYs comment that he can say it's a real Cobra? It's factually accurate and true. That is very cool part of owning a Continuation Shelby Cobra and obviously part of his dream. Why should others here pee in Cornflakes when its legally and factually true just because this accurate comment offends the sour grapes crowd.

Grow up. They can grow up too.

SFSDFGT: Enjoy your Shelby Cobra and your dream of acquiring a genuine Cobra and on top of it an aluminum bodied variant at a fantastic number. Kudos to you!!!
