Yeah there's an idea. Let's take a poll. We haven't taken a poll in a while.

I think if you're a poser or waxer, like you, then you might like your wheels, assuming one could tell the difference between your wheels and factory Trigos. I certainly can't.

Now, if you desire the "as raced" look and/or the "Is it real or memorex?" look, then you want the magnesium wheels.

In my case, I'm assuming the viewer will be thinking I'm going for the "Before Paint, But Hey Let's See If It Looks Good Polished" look, back at Shelby's Venice Shop in the 1960's.

Here are mine.
Taken is 2005. I just had them bead blasted. This is what the centers looked like in 1992 when they were new. No coatings, just raw center section:

I coated them with acrylic clear right after that shot to make them easier to clean. Brake dust does not attack the clear-so just brake heat grays them.
Here in 2012. They turn medium gray from heat-moreso in front on an ERA.
They are only cleared all this time and cleaned with WD-40 towels-plus all the rim polishing. WD lifts the brake dust easily except it's a bb to get all the nooks and crannies-especially the backs.

The inner side gives a good idea of the natural aging. Much of the color change also depends on the mag alloy being used. Mine were advertised at the time as having a 'purer' mag content.

The natural graying is probably why ERA (or Trigo) powdercoats the ally ones gray when new.
rodneym and ACademic like this.

Whose is this? Chassis number? (Not CSX3016, but the 'rough' KMP/CSX).
I know this vibe would drive most batty but I love it

You seem stressed -- I think you need a little vacation. And I think you were a little tough on Mark IV. Maybe you're just having a really bad day?

The next time Mr. Muck has a new product to sell, say Superformance has a new "widget", and the price of this new "widget" is NOT disclosed by Mr. Muck, and you ask why the price cannot be made public here on CC, but someone has to make a phone call to get the price, which you object to in no uncertain terms, I'll remind you of your comment above.

I have both pics of the car and engine but never put the 2 together.
Thanks!

Pat - maybe a different shade? I've seen Trigos that look dark grey and others blue-ish. Not a huge difference to be honest.
Now Bob's Gold/GYBB combo from Vintage? THAT'S a good lookin wheel combo!
Thanks, that's good enough for me...lol
