Kip I think you could buy more car for 30K . If this is the only Cobra you can
get then go for it . Have a local street rodder guru look at it ? Good luck.
You came to the right place to find out about your find.

Here is a 2015 Mustang GT that blew my socks off

Hey Bill, I rode in that new GT and it will set you back in the seat . This is a Mustang I
would love to own . Owning a Cobra for a lot of us is this ........You gotta LOVE FORDS !
I still own a Mustang II and pissed off my nephew by claiming my Mustang roots .
I owned a 1970 R code with the drag pack ,Yellow shaker hood ,3:91's posi 4 speed .
blah blah ........428 SCJ so FE guys I do love heavy iron . I traded that car with 68000
milrs on it for a da*n airplane ! airplane worth 20K lol ......SO my Ford love runs deep.
You never know who you may meet here and I like owning my Hurricane for it's Texas
redneck swagger . Scott Glover has a Ford Tri-Motor .....How Ford is that ? they were
made by Henry . Scott used to fly Mr. Shelby in his antique airplanes he owned . Being
a pilot and Cobra lover has caused a great rift in the river of life for me .......2008
and I am broke again right were I started lol.......My car is on jacks today .....but
it is nice to live in the USA ! .....by the way the Aussie guys are FORD to the bone too!

We fly our models and airplanes and hot rods ......Man you know she could fly and
my baby don't even ....Oh wait ! My wife wants to drive my car again ! !!
Bill you ever have any Pittsburg hotlinks and a coke ? never underestimate a cowboy
from East Texas lol................all in fun .

That thought did cross my mind. For his sake, I'm hoping he did not.

No, of course not. I'm sure Mr. Muck is busy answering telephone and email questions about prices and MSRP's, since that information can only be revealed by accessing the The Great Big Book of Secrets located in.........Oops, I'm sorry, he can't tell you where it's located, since he would have to kill you, if he did.

I haven't bought it yet. I am getting a little scared by the comments on this site, so maybe I should move toward a newer mustang or camaro that doesn't need as much work to keep it on the road. I've always loved the looks and style of Cobra's but maybe I should not consider buying one. Thanks

Not a Camaro This is a Cobra site, such sacrilege! If you do settle on a Camaro, please due not be like the a@@hole who was driving one recently and wanted to race me down a residential road with a speed limit of 35. Needless to say I let him go merrily along his way as he thought what a badass he was, while I thought, what an a@@hole!

Ultimately you want to settle on something that you can drive and enjoy, Cobra's are wonderful cars, but they are not for everyone.

hey, Kip,

Do not naysayers stop your dream of owning a cobra. the only opinion that matters is yours (maybe your spouse?)

there are plenty of cobras for sale. buy the one fits your budget.
Do a bit more research, find a local car club, or attend a car show. There's always 1 guy with a Cobra replica.

it's just a car with some old school mechanics, it's going to break, it's no big deal. good luck

nyg

Kip: $30k? Now add in the new seats and tilt column ! Doing it yourself? Probably not. It won't be a "remove and replace" operation, and you will have to find something that fits, a lot of trial and error! Pay someone to do it ? You'll probably end up spending another $5k! These cars are full of suprises, all of which cost money. If you're very mechanicaly inclined, you can keep the costs down. If not, better have deep pockets!!

In my area, it's kids in those new 'hot' Dodges.
You have to let low hanging fruit go.

$30K budget will buy you a very nice C5 or C6 Corvette. Or maybe one of those FRC or BRZ or whatever Subaru, Toyota or Scion that's the hot ticket right now.

Would you like a price list emailed to you?

You STILL can't let the "289 price" thing go even after 4 years?

And I still rib Patrick over his beige/desert storm paint job and weird LED/Fast & Furious trunk lid light.

Or Dimis spotting a rare NOS FE intake manifold in the bushes while jogging around the park. It certainly doesn't surprise me that he could find something while "jogging" around, mostly because I'm sure he's not breaking any land speed records "jogging" around wearing a Superman T-shirt.

All in good fun.

Kinda like a bunch of friends sitting around bench racing in a garage.
