My pedals are 1/4" thick, and the existing hole dia. is 1/2". These grommets are a close fit.

Was thinking ... A quick and dirty install could be taking advantage of the overside groove. You could lift the grommet and insert epoxy under them, twist them (which would distribute the epoxy), set the pedal upside down (with the grommets supporting the pedal) and let it cure. Probably last as long as the car and would be undetectable from the proper sized grommet as long as you cleaned up any epoxy excess before it cures.
