Thanks for your replies guys.
It's a fiberglass body the car is in Ontario Canada. I was just wondering about the vin# I thought it was a continuation car because of the vin#.
How can someone get a vin# like that? You can't just walk in and register a car with any vin you choose, Well at least in Canada you can't.
Thanks

Where in Ontario is the car located? I track many of the Canadian market Cobras for sale, but haven't come across one purporting to be CSX3491 or CCX3-3491. Do you have a link to a "for sale" listing?

None of the 1990/2K built CSX3K "Continuation series" cars were built with a fiberglass body. Those started the CSX4000 series cars, which were a mix of fiberglass and aluminum bodies.
This car is not an original or continuation series Shelby, so what you have on your hands is a fiberglass kit car with a reproduction Shelby tag installed on it, with a 100% made up serial number. Most likely done before the CSX3K "Continuation series" cars were ever produced. Tread lightly if the car is titled with that number, as you may be opening a can of worms that will be very costly to attempt to close legally.

Ok thanks for the info. I did see the ownership, insurance pink slip and the vin tag on the car and they all said CSX3491. The owner said that it's not a real one but it does have a interesting vin #.

Back in the day, for $19.99 you could buy a reproduction Shelby tag and take it to your local trophy shop. For another $5.00 they would stamp or engrave whatever you wanted in to that tag. Case in point, I have one that I had stamped FPSB where the VIN should be. Nothing else was stamped on it, and I had been known to double back tape it to the footbox of whatever Cobra replica I happened to be driving at the time. My mistake was leaving it on at a larger, regional show and walking away. When I came back from talking with friends and hour or three later, it was gone, never to be seen again. I suspect another Cobra replica owner took it, but have not seen, nor heard a peep out of anyone since that time.
