OK, I'll try again. How much is an aluminum body for an FFR?

You should contact Alloycars. Why do you ask me? I am not a dealer.

Yes, I have. Sorry. I just became a customer.

Hang in there and good luck with the aluminum body - would like to see pictures when it's done. In the meantime I wouldn't blame you for going into the witness protection program and hide out from this forum. You can see that the pitchforks and torches are still out here. After all, the contract is between just you and Alloycars.

I agree with JAMO. I think they are deserving a new chance. Whatever they did wrong.

You are right. Its between me and Alloycars. Will be glad to post my pictures in the future.

You're here now, a customer of Alloycars having purchased an aluminum body from them. I already own an aluminum Cobra, so I don't want to bother Alloycars with my question since I'm not a potential customer and would be wasting their time.

I'm curious to know what the cost is for an aluminum Cobra body? If you would like to keep that info a secret, then I understand.

Bernica 01-12-2015 04:07 PM

I hear JAMO loud and clear..but can't you just post a pic of your current FFR along with the chassis number just so folks can see what you are about to do? This is a complicated process and there actually maybe folks here that can help.

REAL 1 01-12-2015 04:14 PM

Pictures of your project and purchase agreement/agreement with Alloycars would be very helpful.

Pictures and proof first. Talk later.

But a "Troll" doesn't lie....cameras do.

Now why would you want to go and say something like that? If you think I may be wrong, a polite thing to do would be to ask my why I think it's a MKII.

Firstly, as per your own posts, you have limited knowledge of the differences between the different factory five chassis and the resulting potential for parts interchangeability issues. As a guy named Messer, I'm thinking that I'm seeing aggressiveness common to people of a certain region I know.;)

For now, I'll ignore your insult and pretend you were just asking. Here is a picture of the car in question at the show today.
http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...psnnqg1uua.jpg

That sir is a MKII driver foot box and steering assembly. Here is another shot from the show. Take note of the steering rack location. I'm sure you see the issue. I won't say due to not knowing what I'm talking about.:JEKYLHYDE

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...psfwjiy4j2.jpg

Here is a picture of the a car from alloycars web site. The bar on the outside of the driver's foot box is different on a MKIII. http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...111_081233.jpg

The pictures I have posted are examples of why there are credibility issues with some of the claims being made by alloycars and now you. So now that I have nicely substantiated my claim that the car at the show today is in fact a MKII, how about you go and take a picture of your MKIII that you claim to own and show me that I'm wrong.

EDIT: I also want to point out the same air cleaner, expansion tank, and plug wires on the motor for show pics and the alloycars pic.

RodKnock 01-12-2015 04:19 PM

Without any further product info from MrNobody or questions from CC members here interested in the same alloy body conversion project, then IMO, I think this thread has run its course.

Edit: Oops spoke to quickly. :)

Thank you.

Now I'm curious what other FFR owners think of the price. Does that sound cheap, expensive or somewhere in the middle? To me, that sounds affordable.

Yes Sir, I understand. But what all of this has to do with my car?

My car=MKIII NEW Body=MKIV.

But I appreciate your advise.
Jeff

Time for a few of you to man up with an apology to Alloycars.
.

MrNobody 01-12-2015 04:41 PM

A question on my behalf.
Can I use my previous parts and accessories for the newer MKIV chassis?
Jeff

josrodes 01-12-2015 04:44 PM

16k sounds like a great price!!!!
Is the new MK4 frame with IRS included in this deal?
How long would it take to move all the accessories from my finished MKII into the new frame?

No Frame. Regarding your accessories, I don't know.

When you look at a MKII and think it's a MKIII, it brings what you actually have into question. Seeing a picture of your car from places like the foot box interior and under the hood would allow members to give you accurate advice with interchangeability questions, or you could give the chassis number and we would know from that. As I stated earlier, we already know that alloycars is of such limited knowledge that they don't know what they are working on. When you combine their extremely limited technical knowledge and your lack of experience, you are taking a bit of a risk don't you think?

AL427SBF 01-12-2015 04:59 PM

I recommend anyone with questions about an Alloycar conversion address them directly to Alloycars (Ingo Poth) @ info@alloycars.com
He would be glad to assist with any conversion ideas you may have and has the knowledge to know what is involved.
