Any chance it was a disgruntled employee that started this in order to be found out and more negativity added to this company?

No sir, this one is all on Ingo/Tom/Ozzie/Harriet/Jeff, direct from Ingo.

From two people Ingo directly spoke with at the show, his attitude there was just as abrupt when this site was mentioned as his posts were. Just as the overheard comment he made about "Stupid Americans" was heard.

Of course I did get it second hand, but the person I spoke with has no reason to lie about his/her interactions.

I'll leave it at that.

Sad really.

My Son is a Business Econ senior at UCLA and I actually showed him some of the threads. His only response was "what the heck is he doing?..he's toast!". He was amazed.

Raki!!!

Did someone say "raki". Not all of my brain cells have died. I remember a few raki moments. Great they were!

If you remember a few moments, you did not drink enough Raki :D

No problems here, we just cleaned out the closet and "found"another box of various liqueurs we had packed away for the move. The bottle of Raki was the last one out of the box, told SWMBO that it's been a while, and decided to sit in front of the fire with a good book and sip away.

I am not an alcoholic.....I am a drunk! Alcoholics go to meetings, drunks go to parties!:D

Well, you guys know the famous quote by one of the great educators of our time, Dean Vernon Werner: "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

Like this? For the record, I did not take the pic and have no knowledge.
But it certainly makes a point! A mess to clean up when you wake up in the morning.

Well, this thread has certainly gone to sh_t!:)

So has anyone actually ever seen one of his recreation Porsches? I don't mean unsold bodies in a warehouse, but as a completed, painted vehicle registered and stored in someone's garage? Or are they vaporware too?

Seriously, I would personally be VERY troubled doing any business with Alloycars based upon their poorly managed entry into the alloy Cobra market. This whole series of events across all the Cobra forums would be an excellent case study for student in business school on how NOT to start a new business operation. Holy cow.

Besides the marketing blunders (e.g., using unauthorized photos, insulting potential customers, lying, etc.), the foundation of the business, the actual product that the business will supply to market, has been poorly R&D'ed (researched and developed). Sad really.

Shysters and snake oil salesmen may well have been able to get away with marketing blunders in the past, but with ubiquitous access to the Internet, social media and forums such as CC, it's getting far more difficult to get away with that crap.

Open and honest dealings and transparency will do far more to build a business than shenanigans like we've seen - no matter how well done.

Bernica 01-15-2015 04:07 PM

I am not an engine builder, nor profess to be a car builder (I try), but I am a builder of buildings and have literally built a $250 million project on a hand shake. The lawyers didn't even finish the contract until we were almost finished and then we both agreed to put it in the files and not sign it.

Why is that? Because business is built on trust and reputation. It's all you have and should be treated as such and more important than a credit score, line of credit etc.

Hell, what do I know.

My 2 cents...

That sums up pretty much my last two dozen posts in that matter.

And while we are on the subject alcohol, CHEERS! Nah, no Raki -- Hennessy and a Ashton #8!

That's a little baby plane. You should see the big ones he built. Pete's a man of many talents.

Jamo 01-15-2015 08:18 PM

For some damn reason, Bill, you're still posting on this thread. Really getting ready to make sure you can sleep in as long as you want since you'd have nothing to check here.

In any event...I left this open for another day so everyone could have a last shot. I see the one person I invited to provide an apology to the members chose not to...speaks volumes.

Jay...I recall our raki snorting sorties well. ;)

In any event...that's it.

Done.
