Shelby car hauler
Heard an interesting story at last Saturday's Pismo Derelicts car show.
An attendee (who I think is credible) told a story of being involved with Shelby in the 70's and 80's and one of their projects was a "car hauler".
It was a pick-up truck front "half" with a custom bed that lowered to "ground level".
Supposedly (as the story was related" you could litereally push a car onto the bed by hand.
A few were made before the project died.
Anybody ever hear of this???????
I'll try to find out more.
Cheers
Greg

mrmustang. That's amazing. Looks like an inclined ramp judging by the alum siding angle.
Is there any more info or pics?
Cheers

That one is a 69 dodge powered set up. Not 100% certain Shelby had anything really to do with it but it is built on the same premise of what you described

This one is a known fake that someone attempted to capitalize on the Shelby persona.

Wow, that Mercedes car hauler looks pretty nice just to cruise in. Amazing!

Any idea if the red 66 ramp truck posted by Buzz is the real thing? Is it still known to exist?

Not an original SAI hauler, but yes, it does exist and has been seen at various events.
