Still no response. Anyone know if they work on customer cars?

Maybe it's just me, but when I have an issue with my car, I can bet someone on this forum has experienced the exact same thing and has been given a boatload of suggestions which may or may not have helped.
But, those suggestions give me a bunch of options to try or eliminate. Some I may never have thought of. So, instead of paying a mechanic to go down the check list on hi$ clock, I can do it on mine. After all, if you own one of these cars, you better know or learn how to turn a wrench or have a tow truck as a second car and a mechanic on retainer.

I bought the first VW Rabbit sold in our area February 18, 1975 - a California spec car in Canada. That car made me feel like I had a mechanic on retainer - and it wasn't fun. The Cobra is WAY more fun - even when I'm working on it.
