to determine if a car is actually priced to sell

.....I was on vacation for a while an on the phone reading the thread No Computer... I was lucky to post in a thread (fat figures).
...... I know people don't all answer right away.
.... Now as far as buying a car like the blue one. I usually watch car sites very good.. I am an active BUYER looking for certain cars. IF it had the CSX plate I'd be flying back out to Cali. I really don't see the car hanging around for long but time will tell. Did I tell you guys I'm looking for a Griffith ??
Oh just got home from a spin in the Cobra.. Low 60's over in the NE today !!

Hey, Blue66 are you Evan? Or maybe NYG? You keep bumping this thread up to the top and stating the same thing over and over again.
Yes, we understand you only buy Shelbys. Noted. Understood. Thank you.
Now go get yourself a Quesalupa.

Yes, Blue66, you only buy Shelby's and you're looking for a Griffith. We know.
If you only buy Shelby's and you're looking to buy a CSX4000, then why not buy Evan's car? You can kill two birds with one stone: buying a Shelby and seeing Evan "get his price."

1000 Series? What am I missing here.?
I would think that the Shelby gauges would be the first hint that it's a 4000 series. Many other clues....

Mullen2, a CC member who owns a CSX1000 posted the following about CSX1020:
"FYI. The Hillbank CSX1020 car has no AC connection. Only CSX1001-CSX1013 were built by AC on AC tooling and body bucks by AC cars employees. I have been told NDM did the body on 1020. It has different shape than the AC body cobras. To the best of my knowledge after #13 AC Cars went to malta and pretty much was no more. AC heritage (Brooklands) now has all the remaining AC body bucks and tooling in their museum. They made a few bodies for Shelby as well as North Devon Craft after AC cars went away but I suspect this is why the CSX 1000 series stopped.
While CSX1020 is a english made body it is not on the original bucks, tooling, or by AC cars. The AC Body and Chassis on the earlier CSX1000 cars bring a premium vs the non AC built cars."

Rodnkock, thanks for clearing that up. Seems to have some interesting "originality" and interestingly the same price as Evan's

Looks like it was listed in May 2015, no takers in 9 months.
It also looks like $240K was the original ask, now $249,950.
Someone needs to reach out to these numb nuts, if the car doesn't sell, you LOWER the price, not raise it

Not necessarily. I have worked with many developers that have had trouble selling and actually raised the price and marketed "exclusivity". Sometimes it works, some times not.

Cars and real estate aren't exactly the same thing.
Essentially the pool of available buyers for a Cobra replica at $250,000 is pretty thin and probably non-existent.
But as Blue66 has pointed out several times, all it takes is one buyer who wants a badge.

I'm confused. I have no idea how to answer "Why not??? Same kinda $$$$"
And is your keyboard stuck? Is one "?" and one $" not enough, so you use 3-4 of them?

Tires
Without the big white letter tires it would not look so good. It is the white against the black that looks good. Other than that, a generic car. Don't think any of the real CSX cars were ever black though. Not sure.

You mean the car that needed a 20K paint job?
His price was always 249K. He had it in a few other places for that price long before anything surfaced here. I never saw anything different.

Yes, I mean the beautiful brushed alloy CSX4227. And while you can certainly spend $20,000 to paint a Cobra, there are plenty of excellent paint shops that will paint it for far far less. There's an excellent paint shop in Yuba City, CA that paints Cobras for under $10,000 including my neighbor's FFR, which had significant fiberglass repairs to be done.
Personally I prefer unpainted aluminum. Why hide the beautiful body, IMO.
The original price in Evan's Hemmings ad was $229,000. That fact is indisputable. Plenty of members here saw it. And I can't imagine Evan, a man of exacting standards, making an error in the ad of his pride and joy. Sorry, not buying what your selling.
