Cobra Newbie seeking advices

i have zero mechanical knowledge, so i would prefer a fully built.
What should i pay attention to for models built in the 90's ? i see a lot of 90's Cobra around $20K and newer models goes around $50K, i could afford both, but what would be your recommendation ? would it be a big mistake to take the 90's at $20K and just assume to spend $2-3K yearly versus the $50K and having $100 a year worth of service ?
