Didn't 'ol Carroll himself say that "427" was the model name, not the engine type or displacement?
Or are we gonna argue over what he meant?

Nice motor but you should state the CID if making your engine recommendation. I trust you got the memo that explains the name of the car plus the 427 fender emblem states what's under the hood

My engine CID is stated right up there on top of this message with my profile description. A 427 FE stroked to 482 CID.

Sorry. I guess I just assumed that anyone on this site would know that it is an FE just by seeing the pics.

I hate to be a bit cynical, but the OP seemed to me to be a "sponsored ad."

What's the best engine for a Cobra?

I agree sir. Each person has their own amount of creativity that they want to put into the car.

Approximate? Sure.

The first one was more of a joke than anything, but the second one definitely "approximates" a Cobra shape....sidepipes, windshield, dash, headlight fairings. Anyone could see that picture and if you asked what the shape was......they would tell you a Cobra....albeit with fender skirts and a VW engine.....but hey, Shelby may have approached Volkswagen when he was trying to come up with an engine plan, right?

Only if Shelby would have installed the engine in the rear and called the front area a "frunk."

I feel sorry for all those poor Kirkham, Shelby, ERA and FFR owner/builders who built their kit cars out of a bunch of boxes and now, according to Brent, can't be called Cobra replicas.

What's even funnier is that Bernica's CSX4250 was originally built out of boxes by the original purchaser. Sorry, Bernica. You own a "kit car" and not a" Cobra replica". According to Brent that is.

You are correct and I am totally fine with that. Call me what you want, I'm doing fine.

Ya, I know you're fine. I'd be pissed though, because Brent put your beautiful CSX in the same category as those other ugly kit cars. At least in his view.

But you're way better than me. You got this "zen thing" going. I'm ill-tempered.

Like water off a duck's back to me....
As you get older you realize what is really important and what you should be grateful just to have. Don''t care what it is, it's yours.

As far as ill-tempered, HA! I spent most of my life that way and have scars to prove it. Trust me, I didn't grown up with no silver spoon.

Zen-like? Never studied it. Just came to the same conclusions on my own.

Are you serious? Way to spin my words around. Let me guess, work in politics? Ill tempered doesn't even touch the half of it.

Go back and learn to read for goodness sake.

No need to insult someone's reading comprehension here. Bernica's CSX4250 was built from boxes. According to you, he owns a "kit car", not a "Cobra replica", because his Shelby was home-built from near-scratch.

I, OTOH, purchased a complete roller from Kirkham and just had to have someone install the engine and trans, therefore, according to you, I have a "Cobra replica." Not a "kit car."

The other position of yours is that Thormaine (prefers Chevy's) and Jeff McCabe (local member here with an electric-powered FFR) do not own "Cobra replicas", because they don't have Ford engines. They own "kit cars."

I understand your position(s) perfectly.

Am I serious? Yes, I think your position is nonsense. And, no, I'm just giving you a hard time for the fun of it. No one takes this $hit seriously.
