That's a WIP (work in progress) pic. It's been through a few coils since then!
I seems to me that there will always be the segment that simply must have an FE, but it sure sounds like things are trending to the SBF strokers as Brent and Lance have mentioned. Easier on the wallet for sure and now days putting up some good numbers.

Didn't 'ol Carroll himself say that "427" was the model name, not the engine type or displacement?
Or are we gonna argue over what he meant?

That's the way I see it too. He put a "benchmark" name on the car, but did lots of other things depending on circumstances at the time.

My engine CID is stated right up there on top of this message with my profile description. A 427 FE stroked to 482 CID.
