Did I read that right? A Tunnel Port? For the street? Many other questions, but I'll leave it at that for now...

Isn't that Vanguard's car? Those certainly are their photos.

While I wish your client the best of luck, I question the asking price, as you can get a really nice ERA or SPF for that type of dough.

As for the Tunnelport for the street, ERA188 had a 427 sideoiler block with tunnelport heads, intake, and dual Holley 600's on it and ran just fine after I dropped the initial 14:1 compression down to 10.2:1........

Beautiful build.

Not so crazy about the dash layout though. Hope there's a lot of wiggle room on the price.

Shame the painter couldn't get the stripes even (look at the front edge of the hood scoop, and the front edge of the hood). And they're waving all over the place....not a straight centreline in sight.

You'd need to do a full repaint to rectify that.

I haven't seen a "perky butt" around here in a while.

And I'd have to agree with MrMustang about market value.

You're right. I looked closer and the left and right sides of the stripes on the hood are way off.

I had a full blown tunnel port in a Galaxie once and I traded it for a 390 HiPo as it wouldn't run under 4500 RPM and was worthless on the street. It made a ton of power at the high RPMs but I wanted a street motor.

That car would scare me to death... If they ran the fuel line the way they did and think that is acceptable, what else is wrong that you cannot see.
Appears to be iron heads unless aluminum rust.

Same experience here back in the day in my '61 Starliner. I guess one trick was to epoxy-fill the ports to make them smaller, according to Blykins. Didn't know any of that stuff back then. I also got rid of mine and replaced it with a 406, then a 427 MR. Good times and I miss them all!
