Looks like it has had a rod failure sometime.

Crank and block still useable?

He thought at one time, that it may have been a small part breakage, but where the damage is it should not be a problem. It did not do any damage to the cylinders. Maybe grind it smooth ?

Hoping to get Brent to chime in.

I don't see anything wrong with it. When you hone the cylinders, it will smooth out the bore. I always deburr the cylinder skirts anyway, so I don't see why that block would pose a problem.

Do you think that since the rotating assembly was balanced and cylinders market, that the rods are fine or should at least, checked for balance again ?

What max RPM can these Ford rods be used safely ?

He has the heads and valve train. He will sell all of it to me for $3,000.
Good deal for an 427 center oiler ?

Only problem is, I would expect the engine to produce 400 to 450 HP/TQ, less than I really want.

(I may have located another NOS side oiler and will speak with him today)
