Hi,

I'll try to take a video and post it up, but there are some pictures at the start of this thread.

The lens is a one piece red moulding as per original, but instead of the lower half only being a reflector, it is now the location for the tail and brake light. The top half is used for the turn signal and uses super bright yellow LEDs that still shine bright amber even through the red lens.

The super bright yellow LEDs can generate some heat, so the circuit board is aluminium to act as a heat sink and there is heat protection circuitry built in that will reduce the power during extended use e.g. if the hazard are used for a long time, to prevent them over heating.

Having followed other Cobras with the L542 rear lights on long continental tours in all conditions, it is pretty alarming at how poor the original rear lights are, especially when stationary waiting to turn across oncoming traffic, the risk of another car smashing into the rear is significantly increased I believe.

I wanted some new lights that retained the original look, but very significantly improved the light output and importantly, gave a yellow turn signal, so I contracted an automotive niche specialist to design the specifics and I'm delighted with the result.

Paul
