Working on a fuel tank for one of my favorite cars, Jeff's red Hi Tech, ( soon to have a colour change) for the most part we are using the same shape of the old tank from the car.
We have added a little volume and some bead rolls to the bottom of the tank along the lines of the large original tank.

We folded the front and rear sides, add the baffles then the top panel.
We are using the fill and pickups from the old tank as well as the fuel level sending unit, this way it should go back together with out issues.
Well that's the plan.

Needs rock protection!
Hi,
Looks great. On my previous cobra I had an aluminum tank made and ran it less than a year then a rock hit it at 65 MPH and cracked the weld, aluminum is brittle. What a pain to drip gas all the way home. Then nobody would fix/ weld it as it had gas in it. So eventually a shop filled the tank with argon and welded it for me. I installed second skin on the forward side of tank:mad
Now my F5 cobra has the mustang tank and shield!
Perry.
