I had initial redirects to other sites after club cobra started to load on iOS after the site came back up, but now don't see any.

I am on a lot of bb's.. None are down as often as this. Have to wonder what the attraction is to hack this site.

DanEC 12-31-2016 05:17 AM

Probably has absolutely nothing to do with this but I got notified yesterday that my credit card was hacked. I got the usual "hacked" notice on my NOOK reader (android based) a few weeks ago when I came to CC and closed it out and haven't gone back since. Probably a coincidence but NOOK keeps my credit card # on the Barnes & Noble site for books I purchase.

Fortunately Capital One was on it like a duck on a june bug and shut down my card within an hour of so. Probably just a coincidence but when I asked the fraud agent what are the most likely way this could have happened - gas pump or ATM she said - I hadn't used my card for any of that. That pretty much left an on-line transaction or someone scanned it in my wallet even though I use shields to keep my cards in.

So - never know. %/

It has been a while since this thread first came out. I went to visit the site yesterday on my Ipad and got redirected 3 times.

Millsy 12-31-2016 09:06 AM

Still getting redirected today on my kindle, i check my credit card and accounts daily already but will be on high alert for any unwanted purchases, better safe then sorry. The redirects today seem to be worse, with me getting redirected just trying to post this reply. Might be time to take some time off from checking this site for awhile, too much info is stored on these devices.

It usually happens for about two cycles of opening on my phone and then goes. I use my laptop most of the day but hone some times in the evening. Last night it stuck for a long time until I finally gave up (5 or 6 tries over 1/2 hour). The mods seem to not be able to fix it. I still think it is an ad off site because ad content is rotated.

When I tried log on to night the first time for a while, because it did not tick the remember me box, it tried to redirect me to a fixed ip address 66. some thing. Once I ticked the remember me box the log on worked.

Not sure if this will be of any help at all, but I only use my desktop and I have never had any redirects or problems. The only problem that I had was early on when all of the information at the top of the forum page was blank. By that I mean the threads posted to and the titles and people who were posting.

Still happening. Is there no interest in fixing it?

Ron61 01-07-2017 05:14 AM

That is rather strange. About a year ago we had a similar problem on our site but it was just certain members as others with the very same devices had no problems at all. And no desktop had a problem, just as seems to be the case here. I don't recall what the problem was on our site, but it wasn't a problem with the site at all. However I never did learn why some people using the same devices and trouble and others didn't. It all went away in about three weeks.

Coincidence maybe but I've picked up 3 malware/redirect virus' after visiting here 3 times. New program warns of issues and quarantines them. Whatever it was, still is.

The problem is not with your device but the content from here. I tried it with a factory reset Nexus 7 and it happened right away.

Iphone, one redirect using safari

desktop, laptop(s), ipad (s) no issues

spdbrake 01-07-2017 09:23 PM

This does appear it may be an Android issue.

Not here. Many have done extraordinary efforts on their devices and it happens even on a brand new factory reset nexus. And with multiple android and ios device reports nothing you do on your phone or tablet is going to fix it.

By the way the redirection is to a new place tonight.

joyridin' 01-08-2017 07:03 AM

It happens on my Ipad and Iphone, so not only an android issue at all.

DanEC 01-08-2017 07:46 AM

Has anyone actually suffered any damage or harm as a result of the redirection?

The only harm I have experienced is the unwelcome onslaught of spam-ads. Those sites to which we are redirected "mine" your contact info once you have been directed there and then sell it to various websites...haven't you wondered where all those emails originated for male-enhancement products and spiritual "readings" and Russian women just waiting to hear from you and...well, you get the idea!

...but, no, none of them have infected my computer or iPhone with any viruses or malware, at least to my knowledge.

Cheers!

The purpose of this "attack" is to sell you an app that removes viruses from your phone/tablet. Those apps are suspect in the further leaking of personal info as mentioned in the previous post. Don't click your way out of it. On the android use the "stop all apps" and start over, eventually it will go away.

RodKnock 01-08-2017 12:49 PM

My iPad keeps asking me to block ads and yesterday one ad got thru and a website called "fubar.com" came up. I clicked out of it, but there something nasty going on with ClubCobra that I don't experience with any other website I visit. :(
