Default Rowan Replicars 427 Replica

After three years of sweat and blood, I have finally finished my project. This car started out as an unfinished project that arrived as a body, frame and engine and 4 boxes of parts. It was a blind purchase on Ebay but I knew I could transform the car into something really nice. My goal was to make as many parts as possible and use what came with the project.

Specs;

- Square tube chassis with mustang 2 front end, tubular control arms
- Jaguar POSI rear end, 3.30 ratio (came with drum brakes and a Ford 8")
- Wilwood Dynalites in the front, Jaguar inboard rear brakes
- Old Ford 352 4V from a T Bird coupled to a T5, runs like a charm.
- Paint, Blue Metallic single stage with three coats of clear

I built this car in my garage including painting it, all the fabrication can be seen at the below link;

I like everything except for the chassis, body, paint, engine, numbers.
Other than that, it's almost ok.

Lol, all of it is very nice, great job !

Plus building and painting it in your garage !

I've never heard of Rowan, where are the located ?

That 352 is quite the motor, never rebuilt, goes great!!

Its actually a rare 1959 high compression 352 from a 1958 T Bird, it was rated at 300hp with 380lb of torque, the motor is all stock and started up after sitting for over 15 years.

Do a search on Rowan Replicars on this forum, there are a few posts of people trying to find out about the company, I actually have their assembly manual. It seems they went out of business in the 80's, I have not found another one anywhere.

I would say this car sat a project for over 15 years before the owner gave up.

Great looking car....and the colour makes it look authentic too.
352 is an early FE, I take it? If so, nice one!

Cheers,
Glen

Nice looking car, you did a great job. Three years seems short given that you also painted it.

What is the item sticking out from under the car in the back by the right quick jack?

That is the backup light required for the Brake and Light inspection to satisfy 2015 SPCNS registration, I tried to find the most vintage looking external light.

Believe me, I am pretty worn out after that three years, it a miracle I'm still married. The three years included most weekend and evenings as well as vacation days for major tasks. When I look at the finished car, it doesn't seem like it took long but as I look at each part of the car, I remember the hours spent. By far, the paint was the most exhausting part of the project (1 1/2 months’ work), three coats of high build, 5 coats of single stage urethane enamel and three coats of clear.
