They are good carbs for the street, but I think your car deserves better than an Edelbrock.

The chrystal ball says it sees fuel injection in its future. I'd like to get it good enough to run a couple more autocrosses before the winter, then tear into it.

So it has the Holley fuel injection now. I have not had the chance to get it all adjusted yet. I talked today to Matt Adams about it. He says they built 11 aluminum chassis cars.

Hey, it's been a while since I've been on the site but enjoy your up dates and experiments.
At one point you were looking at suspension settings and thought I would pass on what Matt A. told me: Caster: 2 to 3 degrees positive (seems like too little to me!); Camber: 1 Degree; Toe: 1/16" Ride Height: 4-1/2" to 5" front and 1" higher in the rear.

Also , if you are interested I know how to reduce the unsprung weight of the front suspension by about 7 lbs per side (if you are interested in this I would prefer you email me).

I have a little over 4 degrees of caster, as he suggested on the negative camber and toe. I have about 4" front and rear clearance, though I will probably raise it up a bit soon.

Of course I want to reduce unsprung weight!

Maybe. Today sorted a problem to an air leak near the fuel pump. Hoping to test drive it today.

Anybody know a place I can go or call to get the correct plugs for my usage? I think the plugs in it are too cold.

looks like the ngk R 5671A-7 is as hot as th ngk goes. Looks like on the warm side of the middle on the chart.

I note that chart is for non-resistor plugs - you may be able to find hotter resistor-type spark plugs for your SBC.

The tricky part is the thread length. IN the aluminum heads the threads are longer.

I started up the car and brought it around to the driveway. Seems to run well. I got the spring perches equal on the back and switched my steering wheel again.

Tomorrow I will wash it and perhaps do some other things in preparation for the event on Sunday.

Today it looked to high in the rear so I lowered it a half inch. I think I'll also raise the front a half inch. I also washed and waxed it and it looks wonderful! ...very orange.

I took the Cobra down to the track, hitched to the back of my Cadilac, well actually behind my Dodge Cummins. Unfortunately it was very cold, very rainy and so windy it blew over the two porta potties!

I did not run because of the weather but had some great conversations about the Cobra. This sort of thing is what keeps my enthusiasm up for tinkering with it.

I went out today and picked it up from my mechanic's shop with one of my grandsons. The new coil, ignition switch and t stat are all in and seem to be working correctly. I drove it over to the little station near his shop that offers sunoco premium without alcohol and filled up. 6.5 gallons I believe.

Tomorrow I'll be heading south to Walesboro an old airport near Columbus in. I have run there many times but this will be the first with the cobra.

It'll be nice to see how the steering works on the track. It may be too quick for street use.

Just got back from a test and tune at Grissom. I got in 9 runs without any car problems. Started with a 57 second run, then 48 and last run was a 44.128. Fastest run I saw was a 43 something. I imagine there were faster runs based on the competition. A cluster of fast mustangs, a camaro and a couple vettes. The car which looked fastest was a turbocharged Lotus elise or exige with a large wing and an impressive chin splitter.

Woo hoooo! I'm going back to do it again on Sunday.
