Default Badge update

Hi all. I received an email from Arnie Brown with artwork proofs for approval/feedback. As you can see from his proofs, they are proposing a basically flat, painted badge with only a raised outer ring in polished metal. Our original concept had the outer ring, lettering, inner ring and snake head all in raised metal for a more 3 dimensional look. I resent our artwork and graphic rendering labelled accordingly and told him Tom and I would consult and email him to confirm.
Here's the proof he sent

Our artwork and rendering that I sent in reply:

The 3D is much better and that's what I thought was being ordered. I'm hoping that is what had been sent in for bid, originally.

I agree with Karl.. for once in this lifetime.. It is a bit late in the game for changes.. I can see the difference in manufacturability between the two. The "as submitted originally" will be much more difficult to manufacture successfully.

Looking at samples of their work, it should be no problem at all for them to turn out what we want. Many of the badges they display are way more complex than ours.

Guys looking at the art work sent back from Brown, i think everyone should note that these are more like flat badges than coins. They are only 3mm thick (.120") which is about three times the thickness of a credit card. If that is not what you were originally looking at and you want to change you mind, let me know before noon on Thursday and i will refund your money.

Don't jump the gun guys!. That was only their artwork proof for our approval. They haven't actually produced any badges yet. Credit cards are all 0.76mm (.030") thick. Arnie Brown's badges are four times that thickness.

3mm thick is about 1/8" - plenty thick for something that's purely decorative.

I've just sent payment for two (2) badges via PayPal.

Thanks - much appreciated.

I agree with Buzz, yes I can easily see the polished outer, inter, and wording can be raised, not to extent of the depth of say 1mm or so (without extra cost), but, running your finger over the surface of the badge you will feel the ridge of the letter's, snake, and inner, outer ring's. That's what the "The British Car Club, Charleston S.C.' badge feel's like After discussing it with our club member's here in the NW, no one want's to cancel their order. I for one, know it will be much easier to keep clean, rather then using a toothbrush to get bug's out of the lettering. I will talk again, with Dan and Buzz tomorrow, and will get back to the club. Cheers Tom

Here is the revised artwork proof sent back by Arnie Brown showing the new raised (light grey) and recessed (dark grey) areas of the badge.

Buzz sent me the art-work. I signed off on the project (A Email to Arnie), as being just a great badge for this great Club. I'm sorry if it's not to everyone's liking, but to everyone I talked to, a "Club Badge" is much better then no badge. As I've said before My Cobra will wear this badge with Pride. Buzz & Dan many special thanks to both of you, for your help in getting "Our Badge' to fruition. Dan, I will call you to set-up our payment to the Brown Co. Cheers Tom.
