Yea any carb box that was on a competition car is going to have the four holes in the front and rear because jet changes on the Holley would be a huge pain in the butt if you cant get the fuel bowls off. Im not even sure what the repop boxes typically look like but the one repop I found online doesnt have them. Theres a slight rake to the box also it is shorter in the front and there are tool marks under the lip around the top of it like they used a pneumatic flanger to make it the lip.

Other than the fact that it is at least from the 70s, the thing that made me think it could be real is the multiple competition preped 427s that were in the shop it came from. The machinist had a lot of high end engines that your average machine shop will never see because you have to have a great rep to get business from guys with tunnel port and high riser 427s and 426 hemi builds. He had a lot of serious hardware in his shop so the cobra carb box really wasnt out of place.

Wasn''t there a Turkey Pan that claimed to be from an original Cobra for sale on here a few months ago? Seems they were asking several hundred dollars for it...$900.00?

I didnt see it. The only time ive been on here is related to this thread. I guess I would consider offers if there is someone who is interested. Honestly if I dont get a good chunk of money for it I will probably just hang onto it until I meet the right person with a vintage cobra. I dont really need to sell it but it seems more than a little wrong to throw it on my corvette haha. I was eyeballing the clearance to an l-88 hood tho. I dont think I could bring myself to do that. I think somehow they would reject each other or explode.
