That looks great. Quite an engine. I'm sure it's providing incentive to get along with the rest of it.

its alive
spoke with you years ago when you lived in New York, bought my ccx around the
same time as you.
started mine up after almost 15 years, kept the 351c and added a TKO500 and
a FiTech 400, ready to take the test drive but the weather won't permit.
yours looks great, remember when you had it painted.
just finished the interior kept the seat covers and door cards, changed everything
else.
I have to learn how to post pictures, would like to see more of your car.

Great looking car.
740hp and trans rated at 600 ft/lbs?
So your engine makes 600 torque at 6500?
600 x 6500 / 5252 = 742hp
How much torque does the engine make at it's torque peak?
I think the trans is not up to the task of the engine.

I figure the complete inabiility to hook the tires up will save the transmission. If not, not sure where to go after the Tremec. Their 6 speed handles more torque but there no way it'll fit in there.

If someone convinces you to chassis dyno your car, and straps the rear end down nice and hard, and your engine delivers the 700+ horses, then something is likely to give. But, that's one way to find the weakest link in the chain.

I consider tires to be the least expensive circuit breaker in the drivetrain.
Coincidentally, I took my just completed Cheetah out for a limited, low speed test ride yesterday. I thought my clutch might be slipping but after further evaluation I determined the tires were breaking loose under spirited but partial throttle acceleration. As we all know, big engines in light cars require careful application of power.

It takes time
Doug,
Great news, it has to feel good to get to that point. Car looks great and the motor looks menacing! I actually started my (Antique & Collectibles) in 2008 when I got the frame.... I'm about 90% there. (429 stroked/BW T-10/9" rear....)
Good luck with the finishing portion.
