I actually went to Vegas for that spectacle, lol! Instagram bad boy Dan Bilzerian's Cobra in a +/- $300K drag race bet against New York lawyer and poker rival's Ferrari 458 at the Las Vegas Motor speedway.
It was an adventure to say the least! Bilzerian pulled out all the stops, flying in playmates and bunnies from "the mansion" and laying down so much traction compound on the track it would pull the shoes right off your feet.
I documented the event here - not sure if the thread is still around or not, but it did have it's moments, lol!
I'm third from the left at the very beginning of the video.

Here it is - the original thread locked at 600+ posts and the 450 post follow-up thread. 1000 plus posts and some people still believed the whole thing was a hoax Pop some corn and put your feet up:

I can't believe I had the restraint back then to stay out of both threads

One of many great threads I have enjoyed over the years and beautiful artwork as always Buzz!
Club Cobra is a great resource & gathering place for Cobra enthusiasts from all over and a good place for newbies, not so newbies and old timers alike. Just about everyone plays well together in the sandbox and if not, folks sort it out pretty quickly themselves. It’s pretty rare these days that Jamo has to give someone a time out, best not to poke the bear.
I appreciate all of the input & guidance I received as I was planning my build and as a result I have a Cobra that I love and made many wonderful friendships along the way.

Buzz - thanks for posting the original threads. Lots of memories.
I didn't realize I was the last to post to the thread. Maybe if I'd kept my mouth shut, it'd still be going today...

That was a great event that generated a lot of interest. You can sure pick out a lot of old time members in the long threads.

Thanks Bill,
I just couldn't remember my join date but it was one of the earlier ones as there weren't as lot of members when I joined. The 1996 must have been when I was working on one of the other sites.

There was the original cobraforum, which was produced by Mike and Val Senior that dates back to early 1997, but was more a specialized site for early FFR builders.

I'm one of the newbies and didn't join until 2002. I couldn't remember so took a look back at the member list. I'd had "issues" being able to sign on last spring and had to create a new name and eMail, hence the newer join date. I've certainly enjoyed the site and have also picked up lots of information over the years.
Keep on Keeping on....

I remember back in the day this site was owned by Brent Mills, and he would post on a fairly regular basis. Does he still own this site? I never see him posting anymore. What's up with him, is he still around?

Speaking of Brent..
This is a pic of his exquisitely detailed and polished Kirkham - one of many beautifully composed photos in his gallery. I believe it was around the time of this shot that Brent was persuaded to loan his Cobra to his company (I think) as a prop for a business event. The car was parked outside and at the end of the event some drunk slob participant came out and threw himself across the fender and hood, damaging the finish and possibly denting the alloy coachwork. Needless to say Brent was not a happy camper! I was outraged when I read that thread so I could only imagine how he felt. Other than that sad episode, Brent was always a calm and benevolent keeper of the site; donating countless hours of his time and resources to give us this forum.

In terms of epic old threads - newer members who enjoy reading Cobra non-fiction drama, look up a thread entitled "I'm dying and I want my Cobra". I think that one really takes the cake.
