Kirkham Titling
In reading the description of the auction, there was a note that said this vehicle was Titled as a Ford. I wonder what State allowed that? It wouldn't be the State I live in and I doubt California would either.

Given that Kirkham rollers are in excess of $200k now, this seems way under market. Unless there is something seriously wrong with the car, that I missed.
I'd post a link but their website is down.

Most of us, already has one or two But still a great place to post one. I have a buyer in Washington State, looking for reasonable priced Cobra, with the market what it is, I can't find a (Good One) at his price. I hope @Rich L. Bailey you understand there was at least two alcohol fueled clowns that bid it up to 190K, and in the end he (The winner) was the loser, for that Superformance. The other place to go is BaT, a nice ERA went for a 100K last week (Low, low miles, very nice cond.), and yesterday one brought ( Superformance) brought 65.5K You may have to have more post's before you can put up an ad. Cheers TommyRot.

Man, some of you guys are showing your true Ford-vs-Chevy colors in this thread.
As an owner I love seeing the prices go higher and higher regardless of manufacturer.
FFR's consistently $50k+.....awesome. SPF & BDR's going for $90-110k all day every day....awesome.
It's like you're all afraid of money or something.

Auctions are a crap shoot. My Ford GT went for 200K under what Craig Jackson and Steve Davis projected. Their placement of my car in the lineup and the promotion it got are indications that their expectations were for a much higher number. Auctions require two or more interested parties, and in the end, two then one. If it starts off with only two and one is not a real spender, you get a low number...

That Kirkham looks great! Someone got a hell of a deal. It'll probably sell on B.A.T. next month for $180k.

Well there you have it - that's why the BIG $. It was the ULTRA light version! Worth WAY more, even with the additional weight from the passenger role hoop.

I saw exactly the same thing happen to an online Gooding auction for a first rate Lotus Elan that sold for 50% of market value, at no reserve. The Lotus then showed up on BAT a few weeks later and sold at market price (2xGooding).
My conclusion is that the Gooding online auctions really are a "crap shoot". Especially at no (or low) reserve. I don't think they attract enough serious retail buyers. Just opportunistic dealers.
The seller of the Kirkham left at least $100K on the table. The only saving grace is that the car was a 2007 so perhaps the seller purchased the car 15 years ago for a (now) low price - discounting inflation/cost of money.

ICOholder, a platform known for tracking and analyzing cryptocurrency projects, could shed light on the unpredictable nature of these auctions. I'd have to paint it. That alone would have driven me away from it. Hate body shop jails .

Well that color scheme is interesting. Perhaps I can see why that went at a discount.

That color is a bit of a puke-fest. There are certain cars that just don't mix with pastel colors.

1nt, certainly wouldn't have been my color choice, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If the seller had wanted, he probably could and dropped $15K to paint it a different color and tripled his money. Just my 2¢.

If he'd gone with beige maybe quadrupled it.

I have a 54 Studebaker commander coupe that color....don't care that much for it either but it is better than on a Cobra.

It's not just Cobra's! Look at what this 1958 AC Ace brought, and it is powered by the most anemic engine of all the Ace based cars! Of course, I never thought we would see Cobra's going for a million +. How many here, remember when the first 427SC went for a staggering $35,000, in the late 70s I believe! https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/27328/lot/44/
