I need help
I want to move my ignition switch to a higher location on my dash. In it's present location the extra keys and fob dangle and jab my left thigh when operating the clutch. Suggestion on covering the old hole. Black vinyl with padding.

The easy answer is to separate your Cobra key
from all the other items. What wears a keyed
ignition out prematurely causing a fault is dangling
all that from it.
But, if that's not for you, could plug the existing
ignition hole with a "Push To Start" button, then
relocate the ignition key hole where desired.
You would then use the key for power on and
the push botton to momentary crank the starter.

How about one of these. It's what I use in my Corvette. The ignition key is on one ring and all the others are on the other. They can be easily separated.

I agree with Unique427. Used to have the ignition key on a ring and attached to the other keys on a carabiner. The weight of the additional keys does not do the ignition switch any good.

I use a starter button on right of the steering column and leave the lone key in the ignition switch.

The key part of the Cobra starter is to make you feel good. And to provide the bridge to the starter. Just remember that locks just keep honest people honest. There probably isn't an easier car on the planet to hotwire than a Cobra. Maybe a Yugo but I never saw inside one

said thief makes a tire shredding getaway
ending around a tree on the first curve. |

Yep, that's how the theft of almost all "supercars" works out in the end. Heck, many owners can't even leave a car show without finding a tree. Trees and other immobile objects usually win.

I already use a push to start button and a keyed ignition switch. I located them in the left side in the protected area where the door and dash meet. My problem is I have the ignition switch low and closer to the steering column. The other keys dangle with the fob, and end up digging into my left thigh. I get the accumulation of keys is bad for the keyed switch. The assortment of keys for switch include, Gas cap, trunk, glove box and steering wheel to brake pedal lock .I get the idea of disconnecting the keys other than the ignition but need to go with the car.
The USB power outlet is a good idea as a cell phone would be handy in the event of something happening when out in the wild.

Run a race style carburetor with no choke. Instant anti-theft device. Only you know the special 'chicken dance' to get the thing started
